2025 HCAC Men's Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships Recap - Day 1

BEREA, Ky. - The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) kicked off the first day of the 2025 Outdoor Track and Field Championships on the campus of Berea College, at Berea College Outdoor Track.

Looking to defend their 2024 Outdoor titles will be the Manchester University men’s and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women’s programs. In 2024, the Spartans captured the men’s title with 223 points, and on the women’s side, the Panthers would claim 2024 championships with 208 points for the win.

After the first day of competition Rose-Hulman leads in the men’s standings with a total of 86 points through six events. The Fightin' Engineers are followed by Manchester with 50 points and Hanover College with 37 points. On the women’s side Rose-Hulman narrowly leads Manchester with 55.5 points. Manchester sits in second place after day one with a total of 53 points followed by Hanover (42 points).
 
Berea's Ashyia Maddickes claimed the title of champion in women’sTriple Jumps with a distance of 11.12 meters. Due to technical difficulties, the men's Triple Jump will be contested on Day 2 of the Championships. 
 
Manchester's Carley Camp took the title in the women's Discus with 44.27 meters. Rose-Hulman's Antoine Cooper took the Men's title in the Discus with a distance of 51.13 meters.
 
Manchester University’s Carley Camp found her way to the top of the podium after she took the title of the women’s Shot Put with a throw of 13.94 meters - a new HCAC meet record. Tommy Wilmoth of Hanover claimed the men's Shot Put championship with a distance of 15.19 meters.

Rose-Hulman's Irene Lema Madueno jumped to gold in the women's Pole Vault with a height of 2.92 meters. Rose-Hulman's Kolton Nanko took the title on men's side with a height of 4.72 meters
 
The Women’s 3000 meter Steeplechase champion was Jocelyn Onstot of Rose-Hulman with a time of 11:39.17. Gavin Byerly of Manchester University raced to the title in the men’s 3000 meter with a time of 9:23.88.
 
Day one was closed out by the men’s and women’s 10,000 meter run with Hanover's Callie Swegman posted a time of 40:04.80 for the women’s 10,000 meter championship. Manchester's Connor Havens won the men’s 10,000 meter with a time of 31:45.49.
 
Day two of the 2025 Outdoor Track and Field Championships is slated to begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 26th at Berea College Outdoor Track.
