Rose-Hulman Wins 2025 HCAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships

BEREA, Ky. - The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) concluded the 2025 Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at the Berea College Outdoor Track.
 
The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers are the 2025 HCAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Champions, scoring a total of 180.50 points. The Spartans of Manchester University finished in second place with a total of 138 points. Hanover College Panthers finished in third with 117 total points.

Female Newcomer of the Year: Chesnee Miller, Manchester
Female Most Outstanding Throws Athlete of the Year: Carley Camp, Manchester
Female Most Outstanding Jumps Athlete of the Year: Ashyia Maddickes, Berea
Female Most Outstanding Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Year: Rose Talbert, Rose-Hulman
Female Most Outstanding Distance Athlete of the Year: Jocelyn Onstot, Rose-Hulman
Women’s Coaching Staff of the Year: Transylvania University, led by head coach Matt Andrews.  Assistant Coaches are: Bryce Favors-Charleston, and Graham Smith

All-Conference Honors:

Each athlete and relay team that finished their respective events in First Place are named First Team HCAC All-Conference; Second Place finishers are named to the HCAC All-Conference Second Team; and Third Place finishers are named to the Honorable Mention HCAC All-Conference Teams.

The women’s javelin throw opened up day two on the women’s side, which resulted in Madalyn Hudnall of Mount St. Joseph University becoming the first HCAC winner of day two on the women’s side. Hudnall posted a 41.27 meter mark.
 
Carley Camp of Manchester earned first place in the women’s Hammer Throw. Camp's winning throw went a distance of 51.80 meters. Camp's dominant performances this weekend led to her being named as the HCAC Female Most Outstanding Throws Athlete of the Year.
 
Ashyia Maddickes of Berea College was crowned champion in the women’s long jump. Maddickes jumped 5.25 meters to win the competition. Maddickes' performances this weekend resulted in her being named the HCAC Female Most Outstanding Jumps Athlete of the Year.
 
Taylor Roark of Transylvania University, found herself atop the women’s high jump podium clearing 1.56 meters.

The women’s 4x100 meter relay was won by Rose-Hulman. The Fightin’ Engineers team that posted a time of 49.29 was made up of Emma Johns, Rose Talbert, Iliana Hernandez, and Alex Adams. 
 
The women’s 1500 meter race was won by Rose-Hulman's Jocelyn Onstot, with a time of 4:57.16. Onstot's boasted this and other performances on the weekend to be named the HCAC’s Female Most Outstanding Distance Athlete of the Year.
 
The women’s 100 meter hurdles champion was decided by .65 seconds and saw Narindwa Semakula of Rose-Hulman being crowned the winner. Semakula edged out Coco Truelove of Manchester for the HCAC title with a time of 16.03 seconds.
 
The Women’s 400 meter dash champion was Rose Talbert of Rose-Hulman. Talbert posted a 55.87 second 400 meter dash for this year's HCAC title - and that time set a new HCAC meet record. 
 
The women’s 100 meter dash champion was Alex Adams of Rose-Hulman after crossing the line in 12.55 seconds.

The women's 800 meter found Rose-Hulman Sophomore Jocelyn Onstot on the podium after churning out 2:21.85 to win the event. 
 
The women’s 400 meter hurdles champion was Natalie Day of Hanover, who turned in a time of 1:07.75.
 
Rose Talbert of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, this year's Female Most Outstanding Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Year, crossed the line first in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.32 seconds.

In the penultimate event, the Women's 5000 meter, first year Cleo Saltz from Earlham found her way to the top of the podium following a time of 18:28.07. 
 
The final race of the women's day at the Outdoor Track and Field Championships was the women’s 4x400 meter relay. The Pioneers of Transylvania found themselves on top, posting a blazing time of 4:02.78. The Pioneers' 4x400 Meter Relay team was made up of Abbey RowePeyton TanKaycee Moore, and Olivia Sparks.
