Men’s Throws Athlete of the Week:
Antoine Cooper (Indianapolis, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Throws | Junior - Antoine Cooper highlighted the Rose-Hulman individuals competing in the Sycamore Open this past weekend. Cooper earned a seventh-place finish with a mark of 51.61 meters (169' 4.0"). His mark ranks 13th in all of NCAA Division III and is second in the school record book. His mark solidified his spot at the national meet next week.
Men’s Jumps Athlete of the Week:
Gentry Oliver (Lafayette, Ind.) Manchester University | Jumps | Junior - Gentry won the long jump at the st. Francis last chance meet. his jump of 7.03m was a lifetime PR and the first time over 7m. It sits 3rd on the Manchester all time list, 7th in the Great Lakes region.
Men's Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week:
Andrew Shields (Bryan, Texas) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Sprints | Sophomore - Andrew Shields had an impressive performance against some tough competition at the Sycamore Open hosted by Indiana State. Shields ran a PR in the 400-meter dash, earning fourth place with a time of 48.46.
Men's Distance Athlete of the Week:
William Hirsch (Evansville, Ind.) Franklin College | Distance | First Year - At the St Francis Fighting Chance Invite, Hirsch ran a 14 second career best of 14:57.48 in the 5K. He was the top HCAC finisher in the race/field and was the third Grizzly all-time to break the 15 minute barrier!

Throws Athletes:
- Shane Hagen (Spring Hill, Fla.) Manchester University | Throws | Sophomore - Shane threw 49.21m in the javelin over the weekend. It’s the second farthest throw of his career.
Jumps Athletes:
- Markieus Hill (Lexington, Ky.) | Transylvania University | Jumps | Junior - Zion jumped to a PR of 6.13m in the long jump at the Centre Twilight Invitational.
Distance Athletes:
- Gavin Byerly (Huntington, Ind.) Manchester University | Distance | Junior - Gavin ran 3:55.91 in the 1500m at the St. Francis last chance meet. His time is a season PR and the best in the HCAC this year.
- Nate Very (Crestwood, Ky.) Transylvania University | Distance | Senior - Nate ran 3:57.30 at the Harrison Dillard Twilight in his final collegiate race. His performance is a 2+ second personal best and moves him to #10 all-time in the HCAC. Coming into this year, Nate had PBs of 1:57.56 / 4:07.39 / 4:28.73. He now exits the NCAA with PBs of 1:55.68 / 3:57.30 / 4:18.71.
