CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Rose Hulman Institute of Technology Fightin' Engineers captured the women's title on Saturday in the 2026 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship.

Rose-Hulman claimed the championship with a strong team performance coming down to the last events with a total score of 171. Finishing in second place in the women's compeition was Manchester University, whose team tallied 169.50 points. Transylvania took third place with 74 points, while Mount St. Joseph took fourth with 70.50 points. Berea College and Earlham College tallied 46 points for a tied fifth place finish, with Franklin College (40 points) and Hanover College (25 points) taking 7th and 8th places respectively. Anderson University finished in ninth place with 12 points and Bluffton University rounded out the field with 9 points.

Each athlete and relay team that finished their respective events in First Place is named to the First Team HCAC All-Conference; Second Place finishers are named to the Second Team HCAC All-Conference; and Third Place finishers are named to the Honorable Mention HCAC All-Conference Teams.

The day on the track got started on the track in the 5000 meter, with first year
Ella Detjen from Transylvania finishing with a time of 18:04.88 for the win and a new HCAC record.
In the Distance Medley Relay, it was the team from Manchester who took first, with
Ayla Cashdollar, Jameela Hydre-Yusoff, Raiden Norris, and
Chesnee Miller teaming up for a time of 13:24.27.
In the 60 meter hurdles, Rose-Hulman's
Narindwa Semakula picked up a win with a time of 9.38 seconds.
Rose-Hulman's
Alex Adams captured the gold medal in the 60 meter dash, with a time of 7.93.
Rose-Hulman won the 4x200 meter relay as the team of
Alex Adams, Iliana Hernandez, Narwinda Semakula, and
Ella Schulz ran a time of 1:47.38 for the win.
Jocelyn Onstot from Rose-Hulman picked up another win for the Engineers in the 1 mile run, with a time of 5:06.41.
In a record smashing 400 meter dash
Rose Talbert secured the win for Rose-Hulman, turning in a time of 58.04 seconds - a new HCAC Meet record.
Jocelyn Onstot from Rose-Hulman ran a time of 2:18.03 to take the gold medal in the 800 meter run and an HCAC record.
Transylvania's
Olivia Sparks took the gold in the 200m dash with her winning time of 25.34 seconds, landing herself the top spot in the HCAC record books.
In the 3000 Meter run, Manchester's
Chesnee Miller picked up first with a time of 10:25.52.
To cap the day on the track, the 4x400 meter relay team from Rose-Hulman finished on top, with
Rose Talbert, Mackenna Bessler, Gaby Hansen, and
Jocelyn Onstot running a time of 4:10.85 for the win.

In the field events the shot put saw Mount St. Joseph's
Madalyn Hudnall take first place with a throw of 12.50m.
In the weight throw,
Katrina Sejour from Manchester found her way to the top step of the podium with a toss of 15.83 meters.
In the high jump,
Samantha Stetzel of Manchester cleared a height of 1.59 meters to take first in the event.
In the long jump,
Grace Tincher from Franklin made it to top of the podium with a leap of 5.88 meters - the first year setting herself a new HCAC record.
In the pole vault,
Irene Lema Madueno finished first for Rose-Hulman, clearing a height of 3.40 meters.
For Berea,
Prynces Robinson returned to the podium after she picked up first place in the triple jump with a jump of 10.91 meters.
