HCAC 2025 Volleyball Notebook, Week 4

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) volleyball teams competed in week three of the 2025 season.

Offensive Player of the Week:
Isabella Myers (Kevil, Ky.) Transylvania University | Opposite Hitter | Senior - Isabella Myers had a career weekend, reaching 1,000 career kills. Against #11 Marietta, she had 19 kills with a .459 hit percentage. Against Pomona, she had 17 with a .652 percentage, and finally against Muskingum she had  10 kills. Transylvania picked up all three victories.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Emma Organ (Lambertville, Mich.) Bluffton University | Libero | Senior - Organ was all over the court this past weekend, scooping up 83 digs in 15 sets (5.53 DPS). She also led the Beavers with 8 aces. Organ surpassed 1,000 career digs in Bluffton's win over Capital and she was named to the 46th annual ONU Invitational Volleyball All-Tournament Team for her work at Ada on Friday night! Organ picked up 43 digs in seven sets against Albion and Alma.

 
Notable Performances:
Offensive
  • Jenna Woods (DeGraff, Ohio) Bluffton University | Right Side Hitter | Senior - Woods rammed home 63 kills as Bluffton 2-2 in four matches over the weekend, two at Ohio Northern and two at Denison. She hit .193 and finished with 70.5 total points for the week. Woods was also in on seven blocks. In Bluffton's four-set win over Capital on Saturday, Woods pounded 18 kills while hitting at a red-hot .341 clip.
  • Anniyah Harrington (Dallas, Texas) Earlham College | Outside Hitter | Senior - Anniyah Harrington scored a team-high 37 kills this week, averaging 3.36 kills per set and swinging at a .211 clip. Harrington also tallied 46 digs, and four service aces with no serving errors.
  • Hope Moring (Butler, Ind.) Franklin College | Outside Hitter | Senior - Moring flashed her all-around skills at the Franklin Invitational, earning a spot on the all-tournament team. She had six kills, 20 assists, 10 digs and two aces in a three-set win over Wilmington, then totaled 13 kills, 20 assists, eight digs and six aces against Trine. The senior capped her weekend with a triple-double against Kalamazoo, piling up 14 kills, 23 assists and 10 digs to help the Grizzlies to a four-set victory. Earlier in the week, Moring had put down 17 kills at St. Mary's, adding 20 assists and eight digs.
  • Elliot Mays (Jeffersonville, Ind.) Hanover College | Opposite Hitter | Senior - Mays led the Panthers to a 1-1 week as they defeated Wilmington and dropped a match to DePauw. The senior finished the week with 30 kills, averaging 3.75 kills per set. She also added three service aces and a block.
  • Adelyn Figley (Van Wert, Ohio) Manchester University | Opposite Hitter | First Year - Figley ended the week with 29 kills and 5 service aces across three matches, leading Manchester to a 2-1 record on the week.
  • Greta Carlson (Austin, Texas) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Outside Hitter | First Year – Greta Carlson was a key contributor for the Fightin' Engineers as they played some impressive competition. The team faced Coe and Wittenberg, who are receiving votes in the AVCA Top 25 Poll, and faced Illinois Wesleyan, who ranks 10th in the country. Carlson totaled 48 kills, averaging 3.69 kills per set across the four matches.
Defensive
  • Taylor Bock (Columbia City, Ind.) Anderson University | Middle Hitter | First Year - Taylor Bock finished the week with 1.29 blocks per set. She recorded 6 blocks in 4 sets at Olivet and then contributed 3 blocks in 3 sets vs. Asbury.
  • Madison Bizjak (San Diego, Calif.) Earlham College | Libero | Junior - Madison Bizjak led the Quaker back line this week, collecting 58 digs for 5.27 digs per set. The junior also served up four aces in a 2-1 week for EC.
  • Campbell Clark (Indianapolis, Ind.) Franklin College | Libero | Senior - Clark led the Grizzlies' back line at the Franklin College Invitational, averaging more than five digs a set. She had a team-high 16 digs in a Friday sweep of Wilmington, then followed on Saturday by pulling up 25 more in a five-setter against Trine. Clark added 11 assists and three service aces over those two matches. In addition, she led the team with 17 digs at St. Mary's.
  • Kelsey Waggoner (Indianapolis, Ind.) Hanover College | Libero | Senior - Waggoner led the Panthers as they took on Wilmington and DePauw. She had 46 total digs, averaging 5.75 digs per set. The senior had 11 kills with three service aces.
  • Tiffany Watterson (Elkhart, Ind.) Manchester University | Defesnive Specialist | Junior - Watterson ended the week with 40 digs across three matches.
  • Lyndsey Stephenson (Blue Ash, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Libero | Sophomore - MSJ Libero Lyndsey Stephenson had another solid week for the Lions. Through 5 matches and 19 sets she registered 93 digs (4.89 per set).
  • Lily Ebright (Wichita, Kan.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Defensive Specialist | Senior - Lily Ebright led the Fightin' Engineers on defense over the week against some impressive competition. The team played Coe and Wittenberg, who were receiving votes in the AVCA Top 25 poll, and the #10 team in the country, Illinois Wesleyan. Ebright totaled 85 digs across four matches, averaging 6.54 digs per set. Ebright earned All-Tournament honors for her efforts in the IWU Classic.
