HCAC 2025 Volleyball Notebook, Week 8

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Volleyball teams competed in week eight of the 2025 season.

Offensive Player of the Week:
Jenna Woods (DeGraff, Ohio) Bluffton University | Outside Hitter | Senior - Woods powered the Beavers to wins over Berea and Wooster on Saturday, piling up 31 kills in just seven sets (4.43 KPS) with a .286 hitting percentage. She chipped in with 17 digs and a pair of blocks. Woods led the Beavers with 32.5 points. In the three-set win over Wooster, Woods pounded 17 kills and hit .406.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Amelie Cora (Rio Grande, P.R.) Berea College | Libero | Senior - Amelie Cora, a senior libero from Rio Grande, PR, continues to be a stronghold for the Mountaineers’ defense, recording 58 digs this week and averaging 4.8 per set. She reached her 1,000th career dig during the Mountaineers’ four-set win over Wooster College.

Offensive
  • Genesis Casillas (San Antonio, Texas) Berea College | Outside Hitter | Junior - Junior outside hitter Genesis Casillas (San Antonio, TX) was an offensive force for the Mountaineers this week, posting 30 kills, 29 digs, and 4 aces. Casillas delivered a career-best performance against Wooster College with 17 kills, helping lead the Mountaineers to a key four-set win.
  • Addison Piatt (Fort Myers, Fla.) Earlham College | Outside Hitter | Sophomore - Addison Piatt scored 13 kills in a four-set win over Anderson University on Wednesday evening. The sophomore had a .324 hitting percentage with just three errors and four blocks. Piatt also contributed 10 digs defensively.
  • Abbey McCoy (Indianapolis, Ind.) Hanover College | Outside Hitter | Junior - McCoy led the Panthers to a 2-0 week as they defeated Ohio Wesleyan and Franklin. The junior tallied a game-high 20 kills, posting 2.50 kills per set. She also added 21 digs and two blocks.
  • Aubrey Miranda (Medina, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Outside Hitter | Sophomore - Lions sophomore right side Aubrey Miranda helped the Lions to huge win over Rose-Hulman on Saturday. For the week she registered 19 kills (2.4 per set), hittting .229 with 2 block assists and a pair of digs.
  • Emma Blanton (Arcadia, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Outside Hitter | First Year – Emma Blanton was a force for the Fightin' Engineers in their five-set loss to MSJ. Blanton led the team with 18 kills and recorded a double-double with 19 digs. She also totaled three service aces on the day.
  • Lilly Kaiser (Floyd Knobs, Ky.) Transylvania University | Middle Hitter | Sophomore - In a 3-0 HCAC victory over Manchester, Lilly Kaiser hit a .417 with six kills and one assist. In a 3-1 victory over DePauw, Kaiser led the team with 18.5 points with 13 kills, hitting a .417. Kaiser was instrumental on the offensive side in two weekend victories for the Pioneers.

  • Emma Organ (Lambertville, Mich.) Bluffton University | Libero | Senior - Organ picked up 33 digs (4.71 DPS) as Bluffton downed Berea and Wooster in seven sets on Saturday. She also fired six aces for the Beavers.
  • Madison Bizjak (San Diego, Calif.) Earlham College | Libero | Junior - Madison Bizjak led the Quaker back line with 19 digs (4.75 digs/set) in an HCAC win over Anderson University on Wednesday evening.
  • Kelsey Waggoner (Indianapolis, Ind.) Hanover College | Outside Hitter | Senior - Waggoner led the Panthers as they posted a 2-0 week, defeating Ohio Wesleyan and Franklin. The senior had a game-high 25 digs, averaging 3.13 digs per set. She also had two blocks and 12 kills.
  • Lyndsey Stephenson (Blue Ash, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Libero | Sophomore - Lions sophomore libero Lyndsey Stephenson helped the team get a huge 5-set win over Rose-Hulman on Saturday. For the week she registered 40 digs (5.0 per set), in the match against Rose she registered 26 digs (5.2 per set).
  • Lily Ebright (Wichita, Kan.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Defensive Specialist | Senior - Lily Ebright led the Rose-Hulman defense in the team's narrow loss to MSJ after five sets. Ebright totaled 20 digs, averaging 4.0 digs per set. She also totaled three service aces.
  • Julia Brown (Bardstown, Ky.) Transylvania University | Outside Hitter | Senior - In a 3-1 victory over DePauw, Julia Brown led the Pioneers with 15 digs, and in the 3-0 HCAC win over Manchester she again led the team in digs with 12. Julia Brown was a strong presence on the defensive side helping the Pioneers secure two victories.
