HCAC 2025 Volleyball Notebook, Week 3

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) volleyball teams competed in week three of the 2025 season.

Offensive Player of the Week:
Emma Sicking (Fairfield, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Outside Hitter | Junior – Lions junior outside registered 66 kills over 5 matches and 19 sets (3.47 per set) and over 56 serve receiving chances committed zero errors.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Lauren Kinsey (Goshen, Ind.) Franklin College | Middle Blocker | First Year - Kinsey amassed 25 blocks over five matches during the week, posting a career-high seven in a victory over Wisconsin Lutheran on Friday. She had at least four blocks in each of the Grizzlies' matches. The freshman also tied for the team lead with 12 kills against Kalamazoo on Saturday.

Offensive
  • Taylor Bock (Columbia City, Ind.) Anderson University | Middle Hitter | First Year - Taylor Bock dominated with 17 kills (5.67 per set) and a .625 hitting percentage as Anderson swept Wilmington on Wednesday.
  • Kiara Arzuaga (Caguas, Puerto Rico) Berea College | Setter | First Year - Kiara Arzuaga, a first year Setter / Right Side from Caguas, PR, tallied a pair of double doubles (assists and digs) against Warren Wilson and Oglethorpe while adding 15 total kills on .261 hitting efficiency and 3 aces on the weekend
  • Jenna Woods (DeGraff, Ohio) Bluffton University | Right Side Hitter | Senior - Woods hit .147 with 47 kills in 11 sets (4.27 KPS) as Bluffton went 0-3 on the week. She also added four blocks for a total of 49 total points. Woods smacked a career-high 23 kills against Westminster and followed that up with a whopping 19 kills in just three sets against Hiram.
  • Caylee Brandes (Moline, Ill.) Earlham College | Outside Hitter | Junior - Caylee Brandes led the Quakers offensively at the first annual Dr. Bill Brandes Memorial Tournament this weekend, scoring 50 kills with a .295 attack percentage and 3.85 kills per set. The junior hitter also tallied six total blocks.
  • Hope Moring (Butler, Ind.) Franklin College | Outside Hitter | Senior - Moring pulled double duty over the weekend for the Grizzlies, playing both setter and outside hitter during four Windy City Invite matches in Chicago. She totaled 39 kills, with 12 each in Saturday matches against Kalamazoo and North Park, and handed out 65 assists (with a high of 23 in a win over Wisconsin Lutheran).
  • Elliot Mays (Jeffersonville, Ind.) Hanover College | Opposite Hitter | Senior - The Panthers had a great weekend, posting a 3-1 record, including defeating the previously undefeated and regionally ranked Otterbein, in the highly competitive Hanover Invite. Mays paced the attack with 40 kills, averaging 2.50 kills per set. She had a .255 hitting percentage. Elliot dished out four service aces and had 10 digs.
  • Adelyn Figley (Van Wert, Ohio) Manchester University | Opposite Hitter | First Year - Leading the charge for the Spartans with 35 kills in two games.
  • Greta Carlson (Austin, Texas) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Outside Hitter | First Year – Greta Carlson was a key contributor in helping the Fightin' Engineers remain undefeated this season with three sweeps across the week against Webster, Kenyon, and Denison. Carlson finished the week with 30 kills, a .290 hitting percentage, and averaged 3.33 kills per set. The team's 9-0 start matches the best start in program history, back during the 2010 season.
  • Macy Lentz (Park Hills, Ky.) Transylvania University | Setter | Sophomore - Lentz led the Pioneers in assists in every game last week, totaling 124 assists for the week  (43 vs. Centre, 33 vs. Baldwin Wallace, 25 vs. Juniata and 23 vs. Ohio Wesleyan).
Defensive
  • Jayda Lanham (Venice, Fla.) Anderson University | Opposite Hitter | Sophomore - Jayda Lanham tallied 17 receptions (5.67 per set) and 8 digs (2.67 per set) as Anderson swept Wilmington on Wednesday.
  • Amelia Cora (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico) Berea College | Libero | Senior - Amelie Cora, a senior libero from Rio Grande, PR, led the Mountaineers’ defense this weekend with 39 digs, averaging 3.54 per set. She recorded 21 digs and 3 service aces in the team’s five-set victory over Warren Wilson, while continuing to provide steady defensive play throughout the weekend.
  • Emma Organ (Lambertville, Mich.) Bluffton University | Libero | Senior - Organ picked up 50 digs (4.55 DPS) as Bluffton went 0-3 for the week. She served up 4 aces and added 8 assists.
  • Madison Bizjak (San Diego, Calif.) Earlham College | Libero | Junior - Madison Bizjak led the Quaker back line this weekend, collecting 79 digs for 6.08 digs per set.
  • Abbey McCoy (Indianapolis, Ind.) Hanover College | Libero | Junior - McCoy was a key factor in helping Hanover go 3-1 as part of the Hanover Invite, including a victory over previously unbeaten and regionally ranked Otterbein. She recorded 60 digs and had eight blocks, including two solo stops, and added sight service aces. Abbey also competed on the front row with 45 kills. 
  • Adelyn Figley (Van Wert, Ohio) Manchester University | Opposite Hitter | First Year - Anchoring the Spartan defense with 37 digs in two games.
  • Lyndsey Stephenson (Blue Ash, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Libero | Sophomore - MSJ Libero Lyndsey Stephenson had another solid week for the Lions. Through 5 matches and 19 sets she registered 93 digs (4.89 per set).
  • Lily Ebright (Wichita, Kan.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Defensive Specialist | Senior - Lily Ebright led the Rose-Hulman defense as the team earned three sweeps across the week over Webster, Kenyon, and Denison. Ebright totaled 53 digs, averaging 5.89 digs per set. The Fightin' Engineers stand undefeated at 9-0 with their best start in program history since 2010.
  • Alex O'Connor (Louisville, Ky.) Transylvania University | Libero | Senior - Alex recorded 13 digs against Centre, 22 against Baldwin Wallace, 7 against Juniata and 11 against Ohio Wesleyan for a total of 53 for the week.
