HCAC 2025 Volleyball Notebook, Week 7

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Volleyball teams competed in week seven of the 2025 season.

Offensive Player of the Week:
Addison Piatt (Fort Myers, Fla.) Earlham College | Outside Hitter | Sophomore - Addi Piatt helped the Quakers to a 2-0 week with 33 kills (3.3 kills/set), 34 digs (3.4 digs/set), three aces and a .261 hitting percentage. On Saturday, Piatt scored 17 kills at a .378 hitting percentage with 19 digs, one block and one ace in Earlham's second win over Transylvania since joining the HCAC in 2010.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Lily Ebright (Wichita, Kan.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Defensive Specialist | Senior - Lily Ebright led the Rose-Hulman defense this week as the team recorded two wins over Greenville and Berea. Ebright recorded 56 digs on the week, averaging 8.00 digs per set. Her best performance came in the team's conference match against Berea. Ebright totaled 32 digs in the 3-0 sweep, averaging 10.66 digs per set. Ebright currently leads the conference with 6.30 digs per set.

Offensive
  • Nashaliz Garcia (Naguabo, Puerto Rico) Berea College | Middle Blocker | Sophomore - Nashaliz Garcia, a sophomore middle blocker from Naguabo, PR, continues to be a stellar performer for the Mountaineers, posting a total of 29 kills, 8 blocks, 5 aces, and 12 digs in three matches this week. In the four-set win against Huntingdon, she recorded 8 kills and only 1 error for an impressive .520 hitting percentage. In the three-set sweep over Piedmont, she added 8 kills with no errors, hitting .304.
  • Hope Moring (Butler, Ind.) Franklin College | Outside Hitter | Senior - Moring continued her stellar all-around play in the Grizzlies' 25-18, 25-10, 25-17 sweep at Anderson, banging home a team-high 11 kills while adding 12 assists and eight digs to narrowly miss a triple-double. Franklin is off to its first 2-0 HCAC start since 2019.
  • Elliot Mays (Jeffersonville, Ind.) Hanover College | Outside Hitter | Senior - Mays helped lead the Panthers to a 2-0 week as they hit the road, defeating both Bluffton and Ohio Wesleyan. The senior had 26 total kills for a 3.25 kills per set. She also had 10 digs and five total blocks. Mays posted a .288 hitting percentage.
  • Aubrey Miranda (Medina, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Outside Hitter | Sophomore - Lions sophomore right side Aubrey Miranda had an outstanding week. She registered 22 kills across two matches and seven sets, a .286 hitting percentage and a block. In the Lions straight set win over Manchester on Saturday she registered 7 kills on only 11 attempts and a .455 hitting percentage.
  • Emma Blanton (Arcadia, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Outside Hitter | First Year – Emma Blanton was a standout for Rose-Hulman across their two wins on the week against Greenville and Berea. Blanton recorded back-to-back double-doubles in kills and digs in both matches. She totaled 13 kills and 13 digs against Greenville, and 12 kills and 12 digs against Berea. Altogether, she totaled 25 kills, averaging 3.57 kills per set, and 4.29 points per set.
  • Macy Lentz (Park Hills, Ky.) Transylvania University | Setter | Sophomore - In a 3-0 win vs. Spalding, Macy Lentz led the team with 23 assists - in addition to 13 digs to also lead in the category, she hit a .250 in the win. In a 3-2 loss at Earlham Lentz recorded a career high 58 assists, along with 14 digs. She averaged 11.6 assists per set in the win. Lentz has had three career highs in assists in her last four games (50 vs. Ohio Northern, 51 vs. Rose-Hulman and 58 vs. Earlham).
Defensive
  • Amelie Cora (Rio Grande, P.R.) Berea College | Libero | Senior - Amelie Cora, a senior libero from Rio Grande, PR, continues to be a stronghold for the Mountaineers’ defense, recording 50 digs this week and averaging 5.0 per set. She also contributed 3 aces and 6 assists. She currently leads the team in digs this season with 232.
  • Gabby Gerardi (Sterling Heights, Mich.) Earlham College | Middle Hitter | Senior - Gabby Gerardi led the Quakers at the net in a 2-0 week with 11 blocks (1.1 blocks/set). The senior put up five blocks in a five-set with over Transylvania on Saturday. Gerardi also added 12 kills and five digs. 
  • Kelsey Waggoner (Indianapolis, Ind.) Hanover College | Outside Hitter | Senior - Waggoner led Hanover to a 2-0 week as they hit the road, defeating Bluffton and Ohio Wesleyan. The senior outside hitter had 30 total digs, averaging 3.75 digs per set. Waggoner also added two blocks and combined for 19.5 points. The outside hitter posted an impressive 18 kills and three assists.
  • Lyndsey Stephenson (Blue Ash, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Libero | Sophomore - Lions libero Lyndsey Stephenson helped the team to a 1-1 record including a win over Manchester in straight sets on Saturday. For the week she registered 30 digs (4.29 per set) and committed only a single serve receive error.
  • Julia Brown (Bardstown, Ky.) Transylvania University | Outside Hitter | Senior - In a 3-0 win vs. Spalding, Julia Brown recorded 12 digs, and against Earlham in a 3-2 loss she led the team with 25 digs.
