2025 HCAC Swimming & Diving Championship Recap - Day 1 and 2

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The 2025 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships got underway on Wednesday night and continued through Thursday at the Vigo County Aquatic Center in Terre Haute, Ind.

Following the first two days of competition, Franklin College leads the charge in the women's race, with the women posting a score of 247. On the men's side, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is ahead, sitting atop the leaderboard with a score of 338.
 
This year events kicked off with contests beginning on Wednesday night, with the 800 Freestyle Relay taking place for both genders and the women's 3-meter diving competition.
 
In the women's 800 Freestyle Relay, Rose-Hulman placed first, with Cate Stauffer, Avery Witt, Ritu Bharamaraddi, and Catherine Bath touching in a time of 7:55.42. On the men's side, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology found themselves on top of the podium, with Vineet Ranade, Tommaso Calviello, Trevor Wiley, and Caleb Munger teaming up for the win with a time of 6:45.24 - a new HCAC Meet Record!
 
On the boards, Franklin's Kamryn Elder took the women's 3-meter diving crown, turning in a score of 409.60.
 
Thursday's events began at 10 a.m. with preliminary races held in the morning session. In the finals on Thursday evening, winners were crowned in men's and women's 200 Freestyle Relay, 500 Freestyle, 200 Individual Medley, 50 Freestyle, 400 Medley Relay and men's 1-meter dive.
 
In the first event of the night for the women, Franklin's 200 Freestyle Relay team of Celeste Hollis, Macie McQuinn, Landi Newcomb, and Petal Sloane raced to first, with a time of 1:38.23, winning the event. Catherine Bath worked to the top of the podium for Rose-Hulman, winning the 500 Freestyle, with a time of 5:10.09.
 
Cate Stauffer kept the Fightin' Engineers' streak running, taking the 200 Individual Medley touching in a time of 2:09.10. Franklin's Celeste Hollis picked up the win for the Grizzlies, capturing the 50 Freestyle in a time of 24.40.

In the final women's swimming event of the night, the team of Ritu Bhamaraddi, Cate Stauffer, Catherine Bath, and Avery Witt from Rose-Hulman picked up the win in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 4:03.15.
 
For the men, Franklin's relay team of Zachary Jackson-Blaine, Will Johnson, Owen Baker, and Kaden Cummins picked up the first win of the night in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:23.95. Fightin' Engineer Caleb Munger also finished first in the 500 Freestyle, with a time of 4:33.09 - a new HCAC Meet Record!
 
Vineet Ranade continued the streak for the Fightin' Engineers, capturing a four-peat conference title in the 200 IM with a swim of 1:49.26. Franklin's Zachary Jackson-Blaine got onto the podium in the 50 Freestyle, touching with a time of 20.61 to snag the win.
 
Rose-Hulman picked up the win in the final swimming event of the night, with Caleb Munger, Carter Kirtz, Vineet Ranade, and Blaise Swartwood teaming up for a time of 3:23.10 in the 400 Medley Relay - a new HCAC Meet Record!

During the men's 1-meter-dive competition, Rose-Hulman's Parker Siddons took home the title for the Fightin' Engineers with a score of 366.10.
