HCAC 2025 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Notebook, Week 3

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Women's Outdoor Track and Field teams competed in week three of the 2025 season.

Athletes of the Week:
Women's Throws Athlete of the Week:
Abbi Kohler (Warsaw, Ind.) Manchester University | Throws | First Year - Freshman Abbi Kohler had a life time best in the Discus of 39.33m (129’) which placed 3rd at the Manchester Invite. This puts her 11th in the GLR, but the #1 Freshman in the GLR. She also sits #8 among all D3 Freshmen.
 
Women's Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week:
Rose Talbert (Monticello, Ill.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Sprints | Sophomore - Rose Talbert had another record-breaking week with two first-place finishes at the Manchester Invitational. Talbert broke the school record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.37. She also earned an event win in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.23. Her time in the 100 is the top time in the HCAC this season.

Women's Jumps Athlete of the Week:
Ashyia Maddickes (Dayton, Ohio) Berea College | Jumps | Sophomore - Ashyia won the triple jump at the Centre Invitational with a jump of 11.05m. Ashyia has now surpassed 11 meters in the past two meets, a career first for her.

Women's Distance Athlete of the Week:
Chesnee Miller (Akron, Ind.) Manchester University | Distance | First Year - Chesnee ran 4:56.77 in the 1500m and 2:20.33 in the 800 at the Manchester invite. Her 800 time is leading the conference and her 1500 lists her at 2nd in the conference.  Her 800 time is also the 5th fastest in Manchester history.


Notable Performances:
Jumps Athletes:
  • Isa Slone (Oakwood, Ohio) Earlham College | Jumps | Sophomore - Isa competed in her first ever High Jump competition this past weekend finishing with a jump of 1.42 which placed her 5th in the conference.
  • Jameela Hyde-Yousoff Manchester University | Jumps | Sophomore - Jameela jumped a 4.32 in the long jump. Season PR and made finals at the MU Invite.
  • Audrey Edwards (Tucson, Ariz.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Jumps | Sophomore - Audrey Edwards had a strong performance at the Manchester University Invitational with three second-place finishes including the high jump (4' 11"), the long jump (15' 1.5"), and triple jump (31' 1.25").
Sprints/Hurdles Athletes:
  • Katie Ripberger (Rushville, Ind) Anderson University | Hurdles | First Year - Katie ran the 100Hin 16.65, putting her second in the conference. She dropped .70 off her time from last week.
  • Women's 4x400 Relay (Berea, Ky.) Berea College | Sprints - Katerina Kovalevskaya, Kymiah Blair, Kristin Fischli, and Muhorakeye Joyeuse ran a season best of 3:58.38 in the 4x400m relay. The mark earned them second place at the Centre Invitational and is currently #3 in the Great Lakes Region.
  • Coco Truelove Manchester University | Sprints | Sophomore - Coco ran 13.10 and 16.75 in the 100 and 100mH. Both marks are #6 and #3 in the conference.
Distance Athletes:
  • Muhorakeye Joyeuse (Cincinnati, Ohio) Berea College | Distance | Sophomore - Joyeuse had a busy weekend at the Centre Invitational. Joyeuse ran a 4:57.39 in the 1500m to take 4th, which is her 2nd fastest time ever. She followed that up by running a 2:23.73 in the 800m to take 2nd. She anchored the women's 4x400m relay, which took second and ran 3:58.38 to break the HCAC record.
  • Cleo Saltz (Beford Hills, N.Y.) Earlham College | Distance | First Year - Cleo battled the elements with a 30 second PR in the 5K finishing with a time of 18:51 as well as PR'd in the 1500 with a time of 5:02. She was the top D3 finisher in the 5K as well.
  • Callie Swegman (Columbus, Ind.) Hanover College | Distance | Senior - Callie Swegman led Hanover at Bellarmine, competing as part of the 5,000-meter run. She finished 12th in the event with a time of 17:55.29. The time moves her into third all-time in school history and is the top time among HCAC opponents. The time ranks her 57th among Division III.
  • Sicilia Eshman (Mason, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph Unversity | Distance | First Year - Sicilia ran a 15 second PR in the 1500m race on Saturday and one second off of her personal best in the 800m.
  • Kaylee Lane (Akron, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Distance | Senior - Kaylee Lane was a distance standout for the Fightin' Engineers with a third-place finish in the 5000-meter run with a time of 21:44.03 at the Manchester University Invitational.
