HCAC Announces 2025 Women’s Tennis All-Conference Awards

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) announced the 2025 Women's Tennis All-Conference and major award winners on Tuesday.

For the third year in a row, Transylvania University's Katherine Taylor (Burlington, Ky.) was selected as the 2025 HCAC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Year. Taylor finished her season undefeated at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles in conference play, finishing the season with a 7-0 record in both. She played an integral part of the Pioneers undefeated season, leading to the 2024-25 HCAC Regular Season title.

The league also recognizes an HCAC Newcomer of the Year, a standout student athlete in their first year of athletic eligibility. From Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Lia Taylor (Tempe, Ariz.) was voted as the 2025 HCAC Women's Tennis Newcomer of the Year. The first year finished the season with a 5-2 overall record in conference play at No. 1 singles in conference, while also finishing with a 6-1 record in the conference at #1 doubles. Her dominance on the court and overall leadership helped bring her Fightin' Engineers squad to the No. 2 seed in the HCAC tournament.

In a vote amongst peers, Transylvania head coach Bill Carey was recognized as the 2025 HCAC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year. Carey led the Pioneers to an undefeated conference season, with a 7-0 mark within the league to earn the regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the HCAC conference tournament.
