HCAC 2024-25 Women's Indoor Track & Field Notebook, Week 7

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Women's Indoor Track and Field teams competed in week seven of the 2024-25 season.

Women's Throws Athlete of the Week:
Katrina Sejour (Logansport, Ind.) Manchester University | Throws | Sophomore - Sophomore Katrina Sejour had a lifetime PR in the weight of 15.00m. This was good enough for 4th place out of 38 Women at Wittenberg. This mark makes her #5 All-Time at Manchester and #2 in the HCAC.
 
Women's Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week:
Women's 4x400 Relay Team Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology - The Rose-Hulman 4x400m Relay team of Jocelyn Onstot, Jada Hunter-Hays, Emma Johns, and Rose Talbert broke the school record and the all-time HCAC record by over five seconds on Saturday at the John Gartland Invitational at Indiana State. The team ran a 4:03.10 to take first place, taking down the Saint Louis University relay team. The team topped the former HCAC record of 4:08.29 by over five seconds and topped the former Rose-Hulman school record of 4:09.70 by over 6.5 seconds. The individual split times from the team were Jocelyn Onstot (1:01.78), Jada Hunter-Hays (1:01.84), Emma Johns (1:01.92), and Rose Talbert (57.54).

Women's Distance Athlete of the Week:
Kaycee Moore (Morehead, Ky.) Transylvania University | Distance | Junior - Kaycee had a breakthrough performance at the Wittenberg Invite, running 2:20.83 for 5th. Her performance lowers her own school record by over 3 seconds and is her overall PB (indoors or outdoors) by 2.5 seconds.

Throws Athletes:
  • Carolina Snyder-Perez (Houston, Texas) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Throws | Junior - Snyder-Perez led the Fightin' Engineers in field events on Saturday as she tallied a 12th-place finish in the Weight Throw with a mark of 13.54 meters and a 17th-place finish in the Shot Put with a mark of 9.39 meters.
Sprints/Hurdles Athletes:
  • Anna Jozsa (Cicero, Ind.) Manchester University | Sprints | Sophomore - Anna ran 28.28 in the 200. Her time was a .69 second PR. It was also the 8th best in school history .
  • Olivia Sparks (Lexington, Ky.) Transylvania University | Sprints | Sophomore - Olivia had a banner day at Wittenberg, compiling 2 PB's, 2 new school records and 2 all-time HCAC marks. She ran a new personal best of 7.99 in the 60m and then followed that up with a PB of 58.28 which is the 2nd fastest mark in HCAC history. She also anchored the 4x4 to a new school record, eclipsing the previous mark by over 6 seconds (4:04.74). That mark is also the second fastest in conference history.
Distance Athletes:
  • Cleo Saltz Earlham College | Distance | First Year - Cleo ran a 10 second PR of 5:32.96 Friday night at Muskingum University.  Sher had a great tune up meet and beat many more experienced runners.
  • Callie Swegman (Columbus, Ind.) Hanover College | Distance | Junior - Swegman led Hanover as part of the John Gartland Invite setting the school record in the 3,000-meter run. The junior finished second with a school record time of 10:31.44, breaking the previous record of 10:33.42 set in 2015.
  • Vianey Garcia (Gilroy, Calif.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Distance | Sophomore - Garcia ran the third-fastest 1000m Run time in school history on Saturday at Indiana State as she brought home a fourth-place finish in the event with a time of 3:22.93.
