HCAC 2024-25 Women's Indoor Track & Field Notebook, Week 6

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Women's Indoor Track and Field teams competed in week six of the 2024-25 season.

Athletes of the Week:
Women's Throws Athlete of the Week:
Carley Camp (Logansport, Ind.) Manchester University | Throws | Senior - Carley competed at Grand Valley State and DePauw this weekend. In Shot she threw 14.08m and 14.07m respectively which moves her up to #3 on the Division 3 National List. She also had a 1 meter Season Best in weight of 15.96m which is #2 in the GLR.

Women's Jumps Athlete of the Week:
Audrey Edwards (Tucson, Ariz.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Jumps | Sophomore - Edwards set a career best in the Triple Jump at DePauw on Saturday as she won the event with a mark of 9.87 meters. She also finished second in the High Jump with a mark of 1.48 meters in the meet.
 
Women's Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week:
Rose Talbert (Monticello, Ill.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Sprints | Sophomore - PR for consecutive weeks in 400m, 5th place at MSJ February Invite, moved up to 7th in HCAC, lead 4x4 to a victory, season best and top 5 All-time in school history.

Women's Distance Athlete of the Week:
Jocelyn Onstot (Cary, Ill.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Distance | Sophomore - Onstot brought home a trio of first-place finishes from the DePauw Invitational on Saturday afternoon. She teamed up to break the school record and HCAC record in the Distance Medley Relay with a time of 12:43.31. She also won the 800m Run (2:21.69) and the 4x400m Relay (4:15.29).

Throws Athletes:
  • Carolina Snyder-Perez (Houston, Texas) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Throws | Junior - Snyder-Perez led the Fightin' Engineers in the Shot Put at Indiana State on Saturday with a mark of 10.11 meters.
Jumps Athletes:
  • Ashley Bailey (Stanton, Ky.) Berea College | Pole Vault | Sophomore - Bailey jumped a lifetime best of 2.25m in pole vault. That is an increase of .15m from her previous PR. 
Sprints/Hurdles Athletes:
  • Angel Patterson (Dayton, Ky.) Berea College | Sprints | Senior - Patterson ran a lifetime best in the 60m dash, running 8.64 seconds, .02 faster than her previous PR set in 2024.
  • Coco Truelove (Albion, Ind.) Manchester University | Sprints | First Year - Coco ran a lifetime PR in the 60m of 8.03. School record. Second place finish at the Depauw. That mark is also the 3rd best in the HCAC. She was also a part of the 4x200 that placed second at the meet and ran the 10th fastest time in school history.
  • Emerson Pinger (Felicity, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Sprints | First Year - PR for consecutive weeks in 400m, 5th place at MSJ February Invite, moved up to 7th in HCAC, lead 4x4 to a victory, season best and top 5 All-time in school history.
  • Olivia Sparks (Lexington, Ky.) Transylvania University | Sprints | Sophomore - Olivia recorded two 60m PBs (prelim/finals) and finished 4th overall at the Centre Indoor Invitational, running 8.08. She also won the 200m in 25.90.
Distance Athletes:
  • Women's DMR Team Berea College - The team of Joyeuse, Blair, Fischli, and Stonestreet ran a school record and HCAC record of 12:31.56. This mark is 19 seconds faster than the prior school record and nearly 21 seconds faster than the previous HCAC record. Currently ranks #5 in the Great Lakes Region.
  • Cleo Saltz Earlham College | Distance | First Year - Cleo ran a 24 second PR in the 5K at the MSJ Invite this weekend. She was the first collegiate finisher in the race. Her time of 19:26.38 puts her 7th in the HCAC. She has made dramatic improvement week over week.
  • Callie Swegamn (Columbus, Ind.) Hanover College | Distance | Junior - Swegman had a strong showing at the DePauw Invite competing in the 5,000-meter run finishing fourth overall with a time of 18:11.03, a personal best time.
  • Ava Egolf (North Manchester, Ind.) Manchester University | Distance | First Year - Ava ran her first ever 3000m race on Saturday at the DePauw invitational.  Her time of 10:43.39 is second in the HCAC. It is also the 8th fastest time in manchester school history and currently 36th in the region. 
  • Anna Packer (Lebanon, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Distance | Junior - PR for consecutive weeks in 800m, currently ranked 7th in the HCAC, finished 7th at MSJ February Invite.
  • Kaycee Moore (Morehead, Ky.) Transylvania University | Distance | Junior - Kaycee ran 5:26.09 at the Centre Indoor Invitational, a personal best and Transy school record.
