HCAC 2024-25 Women's Indoor Track & Field Notebook, Week 5

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Women's Indoor Track and Field teams competed in week five of the 2024-25 season.

Athletes of the Week:
Women's Throws Athlete of the Week:
Carley Camp (Logansport, Ind.) Manchester University | Throws | Senior - Carley Camp took home 2 first place finishes at the Anderson “Pre-HCAC” Invite. She won the Shot with a Season Best mark of 13.80m which currently sits at 8th in Division 3 and extends her GLR lead. She also won the Weight Throw with a toss of 14.74m.

Women's Jumps Athlete of the Week:
Prynces Robinson Earlham College | Jumps | First Year - Prynces finished with a distance of 4.92 in long jump. Prynces also leapt 10.24 in triple jump. She won the triple jump and was the top DIII finisher in long jump.
 
Women's Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week:
Rose Talbert (Monticello, Ill.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Sprints | Sophomore - Talbert broke her own 200m Dash school record on Saturday afternoon with a time of 25.97 seconds, topping last week's school record time by 0.25 seconds. Her time in the 200m Dash also ranks 5th all-time in HCAC history.

Women's Distance Athlete of the Week:
Jocelyn Onstot (Cary, Ill.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Distance | Sophomore - Jocelyn Onstot earned the lone top-10 finish at the Division-I Fairgrounds Invitational on Saturday afternoon as she ran a career-best time of 2:21.35 in the 800m Dash which ranks as the 3rd-fastest in Rose-Hulman history, just 0.04 seconds behind the #2 time in school history.

Throws Athletes:
  • Jenn Eisinger (Deer Isle, Maine) Anderson University | Throws | Junior - Jenn had a personal record in the Weight Throw by over two feet.
  • Sienna Slaughter (Mt. Washington, Ky.) Mount St. Joseph University | Throws | Junior - PR in Weight Throw (13.27m) , 4th All-time in school history, currently ranked 5th in the conference.
  • Sarah Shibuya (Portland, Ore.) Rose-Hulman INstitute of Technology | Throws | Senior - Shibuya added a career-best performance in the Shot Put event with a mark of 9.74 meters at the Anderson Invitational.
Jumps Athletes:
  • Ally McGuire (Guilford, Ind.) Hanover College | Pole Vault | Senior - McGuire led Hanover in the field events as part of the AU Invite. The senior took second place in the pole vault with a personal best height of 2.90 meters.
  • Jay'ana Blakely (Westville, Ind.) Manchester University | Jumps | Junior - Jay’ana jumped an indoor lifetime PR of 4.65m in the long jump at the Anderson invitational.
  • Audrey Edwards (Tucson, Ariz.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Jumps | Sophomore - Edwards led the Fightin' Engineers to a 2nd-place finish at the Anderson Invitational on Saturday with one of three individual event wins in the meet. She won the High Jump with a mark of 1.49 meters, and she also added a second-place finish in the Triple Jump with a career-best mark of 9.29 meters.
Sprints/Hurdles Athletes:
  • Makayla Corn (Muncie, Ind.) Anderson University | Sprints | First Year - Makayla had two big personal records in her 60m and 200m dashes. She continues to improve each week.
  • Coco Truelove (Albion, Ind.) Manchester University | Sprints | First Year - Coco had PRs in the 60 (8.18) and 60mH (10.10) were both 2nd all time in school history. Coco won the 60m and was the highest collegiate finisher in the 60mH at the Anderson meet.
  • Emerson Pinger (Felicity, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Sprints | First Year - PR in 400m, 1st place at Anderson Invite,  currently ranked 8th in the conference, lead off runner for season best 4x400m relay team at Anderson Invite.
Distance Athletes:
  • Andrea Diaz (Goshen, Ind.) Anderosn University | Mid-Distance | First Year - Andrea's first ever competition in the 800 was a 2:37. She fought through a lot of nerves to run just off the HCAC standard.
  • Sarah Jones (Greencastle, Ind.) Hanover College | Distance | Junior - Jones led Hanover at the AU Invite taking first place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 20:36.01.
  • Chesnee Miller (Akron, Ind.) Manchester University | Distance | First Year - Chesnee Miller ran a PR in the mile winning the event at the Anderson University Invitational.  Her time of 5:21.85 puts her 3rd in the HCAC and 31st in the Great Lakes Region.
  • Anna Packer (Lebanon, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Distance | Junior - PR in 800m (2:30.80), moved to 3rd All-time in MSJ history, finished 2nd at Anderson Invite.
