HCAC 2025-26 Swimming & Diving Notebook, Week 4

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Swimming & Diving teams competed in week four of the 2025-26 season.

Athletes of the Week: 
Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week:
Zachary Jackson-Blaine (Kingston, Jamaica) Franklin College | Swimmer | Junior - Zachary Jackson-Blaine had an amazing weekend against Transylvania University. Jackson-Blaine was undefeated on the day winning the 400 medley relay, the 50 free, and the 100 free. In the 50 free, Jackson-Blaine went 21.15. This is the fastest time in the HCAC so far. In the 100 free, he swam a 48.00, which is also at the top of the HCAC. Finally, the junior anchored the 400 Medley Relay swimming a 47.92.

Men's Diving Athlete of the Week:
Phoenix Simons (Brookville, Ind.) Franklin College | Diver | Sophomore - Phoenix Simons had a great day on Saturday against Transylvania University. He won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 168.65. He also finished second in the 3-meter diving competition with a score of 175.75.

Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week:
Avery Tomlinson (Castle Rock, Colo.) Franklin College | Swimmer | Junior - Avery Tomlinson was undefeated on the day winning the 400 medley relay, 200 IM, and the 100 breaststroke. In the 200 IM, she swam a 2:19.27. In the 100 breaststroke, she swam an HCAC best time of 1:10.86. In the 400 medley relay, she swam the breaststroke leg of the relay going 1:10.73.

Women's Diving Athlete of the Week:
Kaleigh Schuler (Floyds Knobs, Ind.) Franklin College | Diver | Senior - Kaleigh Schuler won the 1-meter diving competition with a season best score of 234.70. She also finished second in the 3-meter diving competition with a score of 225.60. 
 
Notable Performances:
Men's
  • Landon Gardner (Whitehall, Mich.) Bluffton University | Swimmer | Sophomore - Landon Gardner competed in the 100 IM, placing 10th with a time of 1:15.45, his second fastest finish.
Women's
  • Jami Baker (Lowell, Ind.) Bluffton University | Swimmer | Sophomore - Jami Baker had an outstanding performance in the 100 backstroke, placing second and getting a personal best with a time of 1:09.27. She also placed third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:20.84.
  • Sydney Grisier (Bryan, Ohio) Bluffton University | Diver | Senior - Sydney Grisier won gold in 3-meter diving while also breaking the school record with 151.60 points. Grisier also placed second in 1-meter diving with a score of 150.80.
