HCAC 2025-26 Swimming & Diving Notebook, Week 2

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Swimming & Diving teams competed in week two of the 2025-26 season.

Athletes of the Week: 
Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week:
Carter Kirtz (Center Point, Iowa) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Swimmer | Senior – Carter Kirtz made an impact in the pool with two event wins in the team's dual meet loss to Wabash with a final score of 174-124. Kirtz picked up wins in the 100 breaststroke (59.21) and the 200 breaststroke (2:11.51).

Men’s Diving Athlete of the Week:
Parker Siddons (Plainfield, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Diver | Junior - Parker Siddons was the standout for Rose-Hulman in the diving competition in the team's dual meet loss to Wabash with a final of 174-124. Siddons placed first in both the 1-meter (220.05) and 3-meter (175.00) diving competitions.

Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week:
Celeste Hollis (Granger, Ind.) Franklin College | Swimmer | Junior - Celeste had an amazing weekend this past weekend competing against some great competition in Case Western and Centre College. Celeste won the 100 Butterfly going 59.03(currently ranked 39th in the nation), she also won the 200 Butterfly going 2:10.29(currently ranked 22nd in the nation), and she was apart of the winning 400 Medley Relay with her split of 58.17 in the fly leg(that relay is currently ranked 7th in the nation).

Women’s Diving Athlete of the Week:
Alexis Fleming (Monroe, Ohio) Franklin College | Diver | Sophomore - Alexis had a great day on Saturday diving against National qualifying divers. Alexis placed 2nd in the 3M competition and 3rd in the 1M competition. These scores currently have at the top of the HCAC and 17th in the nation in 1M diving and 16th in the 3M diving.
 
 
Notable Performances:
Men’s
  • Reid Haney (Goshen, Ind.) Anderson University | Swimmer | Senior - Reid won the 500 free at the Halloween Invite hosted by Illinois Wesleyan this weekend in a conference best 4:53.61.  He also split 1:49 on 200 free leg of the 500 progressive relay.
  • Keaton Stephenson (Columbus, Ind.) Franklin College | Swimmer | First Year - Keaton swam some great races this weekend against the number 11 team in the nation. Keaton broke 50 in the 100 Free for the first time this year going 49.57 getting 2nd in that event. He also had a good showing in the 200 Free going 1:50.29 and anchored the 200 Medley Relay going 22.68. He was also apart of the 400 Free Relay team that finished 2nd behind the 12th in the nation Case Western relay.
Women’s
  • Avery Witt (North Vernon, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Swimmer | Sophomore - Avery Witt led the Fightin' Engineers at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational this past weekend. The team earned a fourth-place finish. Witt earned an event win as a member of the 3x100-yard medley relay team with a time of 3:20.46. She also placed second as a member of the 3x100-yard butterfly relay team with a time of 3:10.78. She then added a third-place finish as a member of the 200-yard freestyle relay team with a time of 1:48.35. Witt would add a third-place finish individually in the 200-yard freestyle, recording a time of 2:05.77.
