Franklin: Marshall Named ABCA Division III National Chair

FRANKLIN - Franklin College Director of Athletics and head baseball coach Lance Marshall was elected as the Division III National Chair by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

Marshall, about to enter his 27th season as Franklin's head coach, was appointed on a three-year term by the ABCA. Franklin's all-time wins leader by a wide margin, Marshall carries a career record of 637-446 into the 2025 campaign.

The ABCA Executive Committee is charged with reviewing the business and affairs of the Association and its committees in accordance with the policies of the Association and Board of Directors. In addition to the ABCA President, most recent Past President and all four Vice Presidents, each division within the ABCA is represented by a Chair on the Executive Committee. The Chairs hold their position for a three-year term and are eligible to be re-elected for a second three-year term. The Chairs run the annual divisional coaches meetings on the opening night of the ABCA Convention and recommend various business items and policies for action in their respective divisions. The Chair of the ABCA Diversity Committee also serves on the committee and focuses specifically on bringing forth recommendations for expanding minority opportunities within all levels of the sport. The group meets twice annually at the Convention and the committee elects three representatives from the Divisional Chairs to serve on the ABCA Board of Directors.
