HCAC Announces 2023 Men’s Soccer All Conference Awards

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) announced the 2023 Men’s Soccer All-Conference and marquee awards winners on Thursday.
 
For the 2023 season, Manchester University forward Harley Kruschwitz (North Manchester, Ind.) earned the Offensive Player of the Year title. The senior helped lead the Spartans to an unbeaten record of 6-0-3 in league play. He led the league in shots (50) and shots on goal (27) this season. Kruschwitz was tied for first in the league in goals with 18. His 20 conference points were also best in the league. The senior saw action in 1,116 minutes during the season.
 
Anderson University's Drew Vaughn (Beavercreek, Ohio) was voted as the Defensive Player of the Year among league coaches. The senior saw action in 805 minutes for the Ravens getting a start in all 4 years of playing at Anderson.
 
For the second year in a row, the HCAC Midfield Player of the Year is Rose-Hulman’s Caleb Urban (Martinsville, Ind.). The senior was tied for first in the league in assists, dishing out four during the conference season. Urban also registered four goals and 13 shots on goal. He played in 1,446 minutes over the course of the season and contributed on both ends of the field for the Fightin’ Engineers.
 
The HCAC also recognizes a Newcomer of the Year, an athlete who made an impact in their first year of athletic action. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's Chase Kedzior (Wheaton, Ill.) was selected as the Newcomer of the Year. The midfielder saw action in 19 games, including eleven starts for the Fightin' Engineers. He racked up three goals and four assists and had a shots on goal percentage of 14.3 percent.
 
Manchester University front man Chad Brooks was named the 2023 HCAC Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year.  Brooks led the Spartans to the No. 1 seed, finishing with a 6-0-3 record in conference play and a mark of 10-0-8 overall.

The HCAC also honors an All-Conference First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention team. The members of those teams are selected by a vote of league coaches and are listed below.
