CARMEL, Ind. - The Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) has announced Doug Chin as its newest Commissioner.

Chin succeeds Jay Jones, who will continue as Commissioner of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference while providing leadership for the conference's full membership and all sponsored sports.

Chin is a veteran athletics administrator with more than a decade’s worth of experience working primarily at the NCAA Division III level in conference offices. While a majority of his background fell in the communications and media-related space, he has an extensive amount of experience in operations, events, and strategic management.

In addition to his role as HCLC Commissioner, Chin also serves as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's Sports Information Director and also works as a consultant in athletics administration.

"I'd like to thank Commissioners Jay Jones and Jeromy Yetter for entrusting me to lead the HCLC,” stated Chin. “I look forward to working with the HCLC administrators and coaches to make sure we provide the best possible student-athlete experience for our men's lacrosse participants. We will continue to look for areas for enhancement and I'm thrilled to take on that challenge."

Chin will begin his duties at the HCLC Commissioner on August 1, 2026.

The HCLC is made up of institutions from both the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, including Hanover College, Hilbert College, La Roche University, Spalding University, Transylvania University, and University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. The winner of the HCLC championship tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.
