HCAC 2025-26 Men's Tennis Notebook, Week 17

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Men's Tennis teams competed in week 17 of the 2025-26 season.

Athlete of the Week:
Tim Eckermann (Munich, Germany) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Sophomore - Tim Eckermann was exceptional this week, helping Rose-Hulman clinch the HCAC Regular Season title with two wins over Hanover and Manchester. Eckermann went 4-0 on the week with wins at No. 1 doubles and singles in both matches. Eckermann teamed up for a win against Hanover, 6-3, and a victory over Manchester, 6-0. He then went on to win his singles matches against Hanover, 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3), and against Manchester, 6-0, 6-1. Eckermann is listed as in consideration for singles in the NCAA Region VI Rankings. Eckermann and his teammate Chris Lian currently rank sixth for doubles teams in the NCAA Region VI Ranking.

Notable Performances:
  • Ivan Wularu (Kusami, Ghana) Earlham College | Junior - Ivan Wularu went 2-0 against Franklin to lock in a home postseason match for Earlham. Wularu won at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-2, and paired up for a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles. The Quakers swept Franklin 7-0 on Saturday.
  • Tobias Mandeville (Gallatin, Tenn.) Transylvania University | Sophomore - Tobias Mandeville recorded a huge win at three doubles and five singles, vaulting Transylvania to second place with a win over Anderson. Doubles was 6-4 and the match clinching win was a thriller. 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.
