PENDLETON, Ind. – No. 1 seed Rose-Hulman won the 2026 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Men’s Tennis Championship on Sunday afternoon, defeating No. 3 seed Anderson, 4-0.
The Engineers started off the championship match by claiming the double point in a tightly contested match. First the No. 3 pairing of Joao Henrique Nossar and
Ephraim Guthrie picked up a 6-4 win. Minutes later
Eli McIntyre and
Ervin Perkowski were able to lock up the point with a 7-5 decision on court two.
Nossar extended Rose-Hulman’s lead with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles followed by Yuki Usuda closing out his No. 6 singles match, 6-2, 6-3. Guthrie then wrapped up the match on court four with a 6-2, 6-3 win.
With the clinching point, Guthrie was selected as the Tournament MVP.
As the conference champion, Rose-Hulman earns the conference’s automatic qualification into the 2026 NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championship. The tournament field will be announced on Monday, May 4 at 12:30 p.m. during the NCAA.com Selection Show.
