Offensive Player of the Week
Jack Deweese (Indianapolis, Ind.) Hanover College | Attack | Freshman - Jack Deweese led Hanover at Mount Union as it fell in a hard fought battle, 17-10. The freshman tallied a team-high five goals and an assist. He recorded a game-high 14 shots, five of which landed on frame. He also added two caused turnovers.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jonathan Rousum (Orchard Park, N.Y.) Hilbert College | Defender | Sophomore - Jonathan Rousum was a disruptive force in Hilbert’s season-opening victory over Thiel. The second-year defender caused six turnovers, scooped up 12 ground balls, plus altered multiple shots with his tenacious play. He was also a critical part of the Hilbert clearing and transition games. He was tasked with defending the best offensive player on the field throughout the game and did so in impressive fashion.
Notable Performances:
- Mathew Hillard (Berea, Ky.) Hanover College | Goalkeeper | Sophomore - Mathew Hillard led Hanover in frame as they took on Mount Union dropping a hard fought battle 17-10. The senior had a game-high 15 saves through 60 minutes.
- Ty Franko (Amherst, N.Y.) Hilbert College | Attack/Midfield | Sophomore - Ty Franko led the Hilbert offense with a hat trick and was pivotal in the ride game with one of his goals coming off an incredible defensive effort. He stripped the ball from the Thiel goalkeeper and then deposited the it into an empty net late in the game. He was credited with two caused turnovers and scooped up four ground balls to go along with his three goals.
- Giovanni Distasio (Orlando, Fla.) Spalding University | Attack | Sophomore - Giovanni Distasio tallied five goals on nine shots in the win over Randolph. He led Spalding to its first win of the season. He also tallied three ground balls.
