2025 HCAC Women's Tennis Championship Recap - Day 1

PENDLETON, Ind. – The 2025 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Women’s Tennis Championship saw semifinal action on Saturday, with No. 1 Transylvania University and No. 3 Earlham College advancing to the Championship.

In the first matchup of the day, the No. 1 seed Transylvania prevailed, advancing to the Championship. The Pioneers topped the No. 4 seed Anderson University by a score of 4-1.
 
In doubles play, the Pioneers struck first, taking an early 3-0 lead. In singles action, Lily Hartman sealed the deal, winning her singles match to advance Transylvania to the championship.
 
No. 3 seed Earlham earned their spot in the finals in the second match of the day, bypassing the No. 2 seeded Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, 4-2.
 
Following doubles action, the Quakers held an early advantage after winning the #1 and #2 doubles matches. It came down to Mackenzie Davis outlasting her opponent (3-6, 6-2, 6-0) to push her Quakers team to the win and a spot in tomorrow's championship match. 
 
The Pioneers and the Quakers will square off in the Championship match, contested at the Community Sports and Wellness Center in Pendleton, Ind., slated to start at 1:30 pm on Sunday. The winner will earn the conference’s automatic qualification bid to the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship, with the opening rounds scheduled for May 9-11, 2025 at a location to be announced by the NCAA on May 5.
