CARMEL, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Fightin’ Engineers have been crowned the 2022-23 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Commissioner's Cup Champions.
This is the 18th annual Commissioners Cup and is awarded to the institution whose athletic department registers the most all-sports points in both men's and women's athletics over the course of the academic year
In 2022-23 the Fightin’ Engineers accumulated 140.16 points to claim the title, earning their first title since the 2017-18 season. Rose-Hulman registered five men’s and two women’s regular season conference championships during the year in men’s cross county, men’s soccer, men’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s indoor track and field, men’s outdoor track and field and women’s golf.

Rose-Hulman narrowly claimed the lead in the overall Commissioner's Cup standings, with 140.16 points. Transylvania University finished in second with 140 points, while Hanover College took third with 132.35 points. Franklin College placed in fourth with 120.33 points while Anderson University took fifth with 104.49 points. Manchester University (103.67) was just behind in sixth place, with Mount St. Joseph University (82.67), Bluffton University (82.17), Earlham College (47.67) and Defiance College (31.49) rounding out the standings.
The 2022-23 academic year was the 18th for the Commissioner's Cup. The award is based on accumulation of points in the HCAC's 22 championships and all affiliate sports.
