RICHMOND, Ind. – Andscape, a black-led media platform that falls under the ESPN umbrella, released a feature piece on Earlham Director of Athletics, Nick Johnson. 

Johnson, a 2001 graduate of Earlham and former head football and track and field coach, was promoted to Director of Athletics in December of 2025. In 2016, he was named Heartland Collegiate Athletics Conference Coach of the Year.

Johnson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Earlham with a major in Human Development and Social Relations. He served as the Quakers' assistant track and cross country coach prior to 2004. As an athlete for the Quakers, he was a four-year letterman in both football and track. As a defensive lineman, Johnson shares an Earlham football record with four quarterback sacks in a single game and led the team in sacks as a senior with nine.
