KOKOMO, Ind. – Franklin College claimed the 2023 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Baseball Championship on Saturday, defeating Anderson University 12-3 to win their first tournament title since 2019.

The Grizzlies were in control throughout the championship matchup, taking a 2-0 lead in the second inning. After the Anderson added a run in the top of the third, Franklin matched them with their own run in the bottom of the Frame. The Grizzlies broke the scoring open in the fourth and fifth, putting up four runs in each inning to pad the Grizzlies lead. Franklin held the Ravens at bay, securing the 12-3 win.

The Franklin Grizzlies earn the HCAC automatic qualification bid to the Division III NCAA Tournament. They will find out their draw in the tournament on Monday.
