CARMEL, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has won the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Men's All-Sports Trophy following the completion of the 2021-22 season. This is the Fightin' Engineers 12th title since the awards inception.
Rose-Hulman had a well-rounded year, capturing men's soccer, football, men’s swimming and diving, and men’s tennis titles. The Fightin' Engineers also took second place in baseball, and third in men’s golf and men’s basketball.
Director of Athletics Ayanna Tweedy is at the helm of the athletic department at Rose-Hulman.
Hanover College finished in second with 69.84 points, with Franklin College in third with 63.33 points. Transylvania University took fourth place with 55.5 points, while Anderson University finished in fifth with 48.99 points. Manchester University (45.5), Earlham College (32.67), Bluffton University (32.33), Mount St. Joseph University (31.01) and Defiance College rounded (21.83) rounded out the 2021-22 standings.
The award has been handed out to the most successful men's athletic department in the conference since 1988 when the conference was known as the Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference.
There are 11 men's sports sponsored by the HCAC. The men compete in tennis, golf, soccer, cross country, football, basketball, swimming and diving, baseball, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field. Teams earn points for their institution by placing in each sport's championship.
