CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) softball teams competed in week three of the 2026 season.

Player of the Week:
Mackinley Lawson (Roachdale, Ind.) Mount St. Joseph University | Catcher | Sophomore - Mckinley Lawson had a phenomenal week as Mount St. Joseph went 5-1 at The Spring Games in Florida. For the week she was 9-for-18 at the plate with three home runs, 10 RBI, four runs scored, and one walk.

Pitcher of the Week:
Lesleigh Reimers (Wauconda, Ill.) Mount St. Joseph University | Pitcher | Sophomore - Lesleigh Reimers appeared in four games at The Spring Games, all out of the bullpen. For the week she put together a 3-0 record, 15 innings pitched, allowing 14 hits and six runs, while striking out 12. Her ERA for the week was 2.80.

Notable Performances:
  • Avery Owens (Mooresville, Ind.) Anderson University | Outfield | Freshman - Avery Owens became the fourth Raven in school history to steal four bases in one game. In an eight-game stretch, Owens stole nine bases on nine attempts. She went 8-for-26 at the plate with a .308 batting average, a .357 on-base percentage, and a .308 slugging percentage.
  • Morgan Cooksey (Williamsport, Ind.) Earlham College | Pitcher | Junior - Morgan Cooksey had a great week in the circle in Florida over Spring Break. The junior pitcher made four appearances with two complete games and one shutout. Over 18 2/3 innings of work, Cooksey allowed just five earned runs and 17 hits for a 1.87 ERA, while scoring 11 strikeouts. Cooksey came away with a 1-2 record on the trip.
  • Emmerie Stump (Indianapolis, Ind.) Earlham College | Outfield | Junior - Emmerie Stump had a standout week at the plate last week in Florida. The junior outfielder went 9-for-22 with three runs scored, one home run, and six RBI. Stump earned two walks and hit a three-run home run to kickstart a five-run Quaker inning in a comeback against DeSales.
  • Jaylee Fansler (Bainbridge, Ind.) Franklin College | Second Base | Sophomore - Jaylee Fansler had a huge weekend at the plate for Franklin, going 7-for-16 with a double, a triple, two home runs, eight runs scored, and six RBI. She had three hits in a comeback win over Denison on Saturday and then had a pair of multi-hit games in a Sunday sweep of Aurora, homering in both halves of the twinbill.
  • Claire King (Louisville, Ky.) Hanover College | Outfield | Freshman - Claire King led Hanover as it competed at the Pioneer Classic, going 2-2 overall. The freshman tallied three RBI with two runs on two hits. She added two walks.
  • Lulu Van Beek  (Noblesville, Ind.) Hanover College | Pitcher | Sophomore - Lulu Van Beek picked up a win over the weekend as Hanover competed in the Pioneer Classic. The sophomore made two appearances, throwing 11 1/3 innings with nine strikeouts.
