Men’s Throws Athlete of the Week:
Antoine Cooper (Indianapolis, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Throws | Senior - Antoine Cooper had a record-breaking performance at the DePauw Invite. Cooper broke the Rose-Hulman school record in the weight throw with a first-place finish and a mark of 18.02m. Cooper also recorded a sixth-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 14.01m. His mark in the weight throw is the top mark in the conference this season and his shot put finish ranks him fourth in the conference. His weight throw mark also ranks 21st in all of NCAA Division III this season.
Men’s Jumps Athlete of the Week:
James Kaunas (Johnsburg, Ill.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Jumps | Senior - James Kaunas was the top jumper for Rose-Hulman this past week. Kaunas earned an event win in the triple jump at the DePauw Invite with a mark of 13.46m. Kaunas also placed fourth in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.83m. Kaunas' high jump mark now ranks sixth in the HCAC.
Men's Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week:
Chris Rene (Logansport, Ind.) Manchester University | Sprints | Junior - Chris Rene ran 8.60 seconds in the 60m hurdles. This time was a lifetime PR and has him first in the HCAC and second in school history.
Men's Distance Athlete of the Week:
Gavin Byerly (Huntington, Ind.) Manchester University | Distance | Senior - Gavin Byerly ran a lifetime PR in the 5K at Wisconsin-Whitewater over the weekend. His time of 14:36.44 is leading the conference and ranks third all time for Manchester. The time also ranks first in the Great Lakes Region and 30th in the nation.

Throws
- Connor Etchison (Alexandria, Ind.) Anderson University | Throws | Junior - Connor Etchison had a .45m PR in the weight throw to hit the HCAC qualifying standard at 13.48m.
- Terrance Davison (Brockton, Mass.) Berea College | Throws | Freshman - Terrance Davison set a personal record of 8.94m in the shot put at the Centre Indoor Invitational.
- Alex Trusty (Silver Lake, Ind.) Manchester University | Throws | Sophomore - Alex Trusty had PRs in both the weight throw and shot put this weekend. He registered a 13.64m in the weight and 13.38 mark in the shot put.
Jumps
- Leroy Freeman III (Riviera Beach, Fla.) Berea College | Jumps | Freshman - Leroy Freeman III continued his freshman campaign jumping a personal best of 6.10m in the long jump at the Centre Indoor Invitational. He followed that up by jumping 11.95m in the triple jump.
- Kamren McFayden (Elizabethtown, Ky.) Mount St. Joseph University | Jumps | Freshman - Kamren McFayden improved on his personal best in the triple jump. He placed fifth over the weekend jumping 12.94m. His mark is the fourth best all-time in Mount St. Joseph history.
Sprints/Hurdles
- Thomas Vaughn (Cincinnati, Ohio) Berea College | Sprints | Freshman - Thomas Vaughn had a busy weekend at the Centre Indoor Invitational. Friday, Vaughn ran on the school record 4x200m relay, helping his team win the race. On Saturday, Vaughn followed that up with personal bests in the 60m and 200m, running 7.24 and 23.67, respectively.
- Diego Yun (Cincinnati, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Sprints | Junior - Diego Yun ran a 7.09 in the 60m and ran on the school record breaking 4x400m relay, which also is the HCAC leader this year, clocking in at 3:28.94.
- William Fleck (Chillicothe, Ohio) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Sprints | Sophomore - William Fleck had a standout performance at the Heartland Invite against some tough competition. Fleck placed 25th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.69 seconds. His time now ranks second in the HCAC so far this season.
Distance
- Johnnie Behrands (Normal, Ill.) Anderson University | Distance | Freshman - Johnnie Behrands had a lifetime best and hit the HCAC standard at 2:02.02 in the 800m. His time places him ninth in the HCAC.
- Joshua Pohle (Osgood, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Distance | Senior - Joshua Pohle was the top distance athlete for Rose-Hulman with a record-breaking performance in the 5K run. Pohle shattered the school record in the event with a time of 14:42.09. His time on a banked track converts to 14:51.53 and ranks second in the conference this season. His time also ranks 49th in all of NCAA Division III.
