Hanover Student Athlete Advisory Committee partners with the Angel Tree to spread Holiday Cheer

HANOVER, Ind. – The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) embraced the true spirit of the season through their partnership with the Angel Tree program, an organization dedicated to providing Christmas presents to families in need.

"Every year, Angel Tree has been such a special event that we do in SAAC, and this year was by far the most success we have had for Angel Tree! Being able to bring happiness to families in our community is truly life changing. Thank you to everyone who helped contribute this year for an amazing cause as it made such a huge impact!" praised Lauren Rainbolt, Student Athlete Advisory Committee President and women's soccer student-athlete.

Through our student-athlete efforts with a gift basket raffle and 50/50 drawing, SAAC raised over $1,500 dollars to brighten the holidays for a local family. The student-athletes selected gifts tailored to the families' wants and needs, ensuring joy on Christmas morning.

The committee gathered for a wrapping party, and hand delivered the presents for the family to open on Christmas Day.

The initiative showcases the Panthers' commitment to community engagement and demonstrates that being a student-athlete extends far beyond competition.

The Hanover Student Athlete Advisory Committee is made up of over 40 student-athletes who stride to promote student athlete welfare, build a lasting community, and provide a voice for the athletic student body.

"I could not be prouder of our student-athletes in SAAC that have driven this effort for their leadership and desire to help make Christmas even more special for one local family. With others on/around our campus who supported them, it truly was a "One Team" effort," praised Vice President for Athletics, Mark Shook.
