HCAC 2025-26 Men's Indoor Track & Field Notebook, Week 3

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Men’s Indoor Track & Field teams competed in week three of the 2025-26 season.

Athletes of the Week: 
Men’s Throws Athlete of the Week:
Tommy Wilmoth (Magnolia, Ky.) Hanover College | Throws | Junior - Tommy Wilmoth led Hanover at the Friday Night Spikes meet at Rose-Hulman. The junior continued his winning ways taking first in the shot put with an event-winning and school record toss of 16.95m. The throw ranks eighth among all of NCAA Division III throwers. He also took fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 15.65m.

Men’s Jumps Athlete of the Week:
Gentry Oliver (Lafayette, Ind.) Manchester University | Jumps | Senior - Gentry Oliver jumped 13.30m in triple jump at the George Glass Invitational for a first-place. The mark was a .30m lifetime PR and a one-meter indoor PR. This mark is also third in school history, second in the HCAC, and eighth in the region.

Men's Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week:
Andrew Shields (Bryan, Texas) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Jumps | Junior - Andrew Shields was the standout for Rose-Hulman in the Friday Night Spikes #2 meet. Shields earned two event wins in the 400m dash at 50.80 and the 200m dash at 22.76. Shields' time in the 200 is the fastest in the conference this season. He also holds the fastest time in the 400 that he recorded in the Friday Night Spikes Opener.

Men's Distance Athlete of the Week:
Gavin Byerly (Huntington, Ind.) Manchester University | Distance | Senior - Gavin Byerly ran 4:13.03 in the mile this weekend winning the event at Taylor U. His time is a conference leading mark, a new Manchester school record, a new HCAC record, sits first in the Great Lakes Region, and 12th in the nation.

Throws
  • Qi'Yam Simmons (Indianapolis, Ind.) Anderson University | Throws | Freshman - Qi'Yam Simmons threw 13.96m in the weight throw to put him ninth in the conference at this point, and he also sits at second in shot put.
  • Curtis Burke (Seymour, Ind) Franklin College | Throws | Freshman - Curtis Burke threw more than a full meter PR at the Rose-Hulman Friday Night Spikes #2 meet in the shot put. His mark of 13.41m puts him sixth in Franklin indoor history and sixth currently in the HCAC.
  • Alex Trusty (Silver Lake, Ind.) Manchester University | Throws | Sophomore - Alex Trusty threw 13.21m in the shot put for a personal-best, achieving the conference standard. He also tied his PR in the weight throw with a mark of 13.57m, which also met the HCAC standard. He is currently ranked seventh in the HCAC in the shot put and 10th in the weight.
  • Skyler Hughes (Dayton, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Throws | Freshman - Skyler Hughes moved up one spot on the Mount St. Joseph all-time list in the weight throw from fourth to third with Saturday's performance. He is ranked fifth in the HCAC  with a mark of 15.15m.
  • Grant Subbert (Hampton, Iowa) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Throws | Sophomore - Grant Subbert led the throws team for Rose-Hulman at the Friday Night Spikes #2 meet. He recorded an event win in the weight throw with a mark of 16.43m. His mark ranks third in the conference so far this season.

Jumps
  • Zaire Prioleau (Atlanta, Ga.) Anderson University | Jumps | Senior - Zaire Prioleau improved his long jump to get 5.79m and put him 11th in the conference.
  • Kamren McFayden (Elizabethtown, Ky.) Mount St. Joseph University | Jumps | Freshman - Kamren McFayden in his debut meet for Mount St. Joseph posted a 12.52m mark in the triple jump, which was good for second place at the Mo Joe Invite. His mark ranks third all-time at MSJ and sixth in the conference.
  • Joe Jansen (Okawville, Ill.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Jumps | Junior - Joe Jansen led the jumpers in the Friday Night Spikes #2 meet. Jansen placed first in the high jump after clearing a height of 1.86m. This mark leads the HCAC so far this season. 

Sprints/Hurdles
  • Dillon Pratt (Frankton, Ind.) Anderson University | Sprints | Sophomore - Dillon Pratt ran a 53.85 400m to place third at the George Glass Invite, and currently sits 10th in the conference.
  • Chris Rene (Logansport, Ind.) Manchester University | Sprints | Junior - Chris Rene ran 8.81 seconds in the 60m hurdles. This placed him fifth at the meet and second in the HCAC. This is also his second fastest time race, only .07 from his PR.
  • Diego Yun (Cincinnati, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Sprints | Junior - Diego Yun winner of the 60m dash with personal best 7.00 at the Mo Joe Invite. He is third all-time at MSJ and currently tied for second in the HCAC this indoor season.
  • Trevor Bush (Nicholasville, Ky.) Transylvania University | Sprints | First-year - Trevor Bush ran an indoor personal-best over 400m with a time of 51.74 at the Bellarmine Classic. His mark is currently ranked third in the HCAC.

Distance
  • Alex Taft (Cincinnati,Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Distance | Junior - Alex Taft finished fifth in the mile run and improved his personal-best indoor time in the race at 4:47. He also ran a personal-best in the 800m.
  • Chase Collins (LaPorte, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Distance | Sophomore - Chase Collins earned an event win in the 3000m run with a time of 8:58.29. His time currently ranks second in the HCAC.
