HCAC 2025 Men's Soccer Notebook, Week 3

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) men’s soccer teams competed in week two of the 2025 season.

Athletes of the Week: 
Offensive Player of the Week:
Miles Tucker (Noblesville, Ind.) Anderson University | Midfielder | Sophomore - Miles Tucker provided 3 goals and an assist as Anderson went 2-0-1 on the week. He recorded an assist in Wednesday's 2-1 win against Wabash. Tucker netted 2 goals in Anderson's 2-2 tie with Olivet. He then delivered the game-winning goal with less than five minutes remaining in Anderson's 3-2 win against Olivet.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Justin Burns (Tulsa, Okla.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Goalkeeper | First Year - Justin Burns helped lead Rose-Hulman to a 1-1 record with a 2-0 defeat to Principia and 5-0 win against Millikin. He recorded four saves in both games, recording a 80.0% save percentage with eight saves. He also added his third shutout of the season in Rose's win over Millikin.

Offensive Players:
  • Peter Mensah (Columbus, Ohio) Berea College | Defender | Sophomore - Peter Mensah, the Sophomore from Columbus, OH had two shots on target against OWU.
  • Alex Brown (Delaware, Ohio) Bluffton University | Forward | Senior - Brown scored a goal in minute 83 on Wednesday night at Trine and followed that up with an assist less than a minute later as Bluffton erased a 3-1 deficit, earning a tie against the Thunder. He finished with three shots on Wednesday and two more shots at Alma on Saturday.
  • Mason Paul (Baltimore, Md.) Earlham College | Midfielder | Sophomore - Mason Paul scored a pair of goals this week to lead the Quaker offense. The sophomore netted one goal on Wednesday at Spalding, and scored an 82nd-minute equalizer against IU East on Saturday. 
  • Cole Hubert (Burlington, Ky.) Hanover College | Forward | Junior - Hubert led the Panthers as they posted a 1-1-1 record in a very competitive week, taking on Marietta, DePauw and Kenyon. The sophomore tallied five points with two goals and an assist. He had four shots total and two shots on goal. Cole also had the game winner against Marietta.
  • Collin Schneeeman (Cincinnati, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Defender | First Year - Lions defender Colin Schneeman scored the equalizer for the Lions in the teams eventual loss to Spalding on Saturday. It was an absolute spectacular goal as he ripped a ball from nearly 40 yards out into the upper 90 to level the score at 2-2.
  • Cameron Hannah (Clarkston, Mich.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Forward | Sophomore - Cameron Hannah helped lead Rose-Hulman to a 1-1 record, where the Fightin' Engineers lost 2-0 to DePauw and defeated Millikin 5-0. In the victory over Millikin, Hannah scored a team-high two goals with three shots on target. He scored the opening goal of the game in the 10th minute, and added the final goal in the 85th.
Defensive Players:
  • Brayden Kennedy (Garrett, Ind.) Anderson University | Goalkeeper | Sophomore - Braydon Kennedy saved 8-of-10 (80 percent) shots as Anderson went 1-1 on the week. Kennedy recorded a 4-save shutout against Trine.
  • Peter Mensah (Columbus, Ohio) Berea College | Defender | Sophomore - Peter Mensah, the Sophomore from Columbus, OH had clearances in both games.
  • Rodrigo Gutierrez Olvera Gonzalez (Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico) Hanover College | Goalkeeper | Senior - Rodrigo led the Panthers in frame making two starts and recording 156 minutes of action. He tallied four saves and posted a 1.73 goals against average.
  • Will Martin (Goshen, Ind.) Manchester University | Goalkeeper | Sophomore - Martin anchored the Spartan defense and kept Manchester close with 21 total saves in two games in goal.
