Saturday's final day of competiton at the 2025 HCAC Softball Championship featured two games and culmiinated in the crowning of a champion. In the first contest of the day, No. 2 Mount St. Joseph had to earn their way into the second game, bypassing a tough No. 3 seeded Franklin College squad. The Lions finished on top of that game, 4-1, to setup the rematch from Friday evening against the tournament host and top seeded Transylvania Pioneers.
In the second matchup, what would become the conference championship in the double elimination tournament, the Pioneers jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead, but left runners on base in the bottom of first inning. MSJ would answer those two runs with two of their own in the second inning and it was clear that the championship was not going to come easy. The two teams would not change the 2-2 deadlock until the fourth inning, when Transylvania's Avery Parsons would knock a three run homerun over the left field fence and give the Pioneers a comfortable 5-2 lead. Transylvania would tack on an additional run in the bottom of the sixth and earn the title of 2025 HCAC Softball Champions.
The HCAC recognizes an All-Tournament Team and an MVP of the Softball Tournament. That team, selected by tournament officials, can be seen below.
The Pioneers earn the HCAC automatic qualification bid to the Division III NCAA Tournament. They will find out their draw in the tournament on Monday.
