HCAC 2025-26 Women's Basketball Notebook, Week 7

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) women’s basketball teams competed in week seven of the 2025-26 season.

Athlete of the Week:
Hailey Guingrich (Indianapolis, Ind.) Mount St. Joseph | Forward | Junior - Junior Hailey Guingrich narrowly missed out on averaging a double-double this week, helping Mount St. Joseph to a 2-1 record including a big HCAC win in overtime against Franklin. For the week she averaged 16.0 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. In the win over Franklin, she had a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double. On Friday she tied an MSJ program record with 18 rebounds to go along with 16 points. She also averaged 2.7 assists and 2.0 blocks per game this week.

Notable Performances:
  • Atyia Moss (Clarksville, Tenn.) Bluffton University | Guard | Junior  - Atyia Moss was a pivotal player in the win against Bluffton, scoring 13 points and grabbing six rebounds
  • Karlie Niekamp (Tipp City, Ohio) Bluffton University | Forward | Freshman -  Karlie Niekamp averaged 17.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in a pair of losses for Bluffton. She had a monster game in Bluffton's 68-66 setback to Wooster on Saturday when the freshman hit 8-of-15 from the field for a career-high 24 points, ripped down nine rebounds, and blocked two shots.
  • Berkley Shelton (Anderson, Ind.) Earlham College | Forward | Junior -  Berkley Shelton tallied two double-doubles on the week for Earlham. The junior averaged 19.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game to lead the Quakers in both marks for the week.
  • Sammy Berman (Independence, Ky.) Hanover College | Guard | Junior - Sammy Berman led Hanover to a 3-0 week getting wins over Anderson, Olivet, and Trine. The junior played spoiler at the Trine Classic hitting a contested three-pointer at the buzzer in overtime to propel Hanover past the Thunder, 49-46. She finished the week averaging 14.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Against Trine, she netted a game-high 16 points. In the Classic Opener with Olivet she netted 19.
  • Hannah Holmes (Largo, Ind.) Manchester University | Center | Sophomore - Hannah Holmes put together a dominant performance for Manchester, recording a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds, while shooting an efficient 11-for-15 from the field.
  • Emma Schipp (Jasper, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Forward | Sophomore - Emma Schipp led Rose-Hulman to a 76-56 win on the road against Earlham. She posted a double-double with team-highs of 17 points and 11 rebounds, while adding three assists and one steal. Schipp shot 6-for-12 from the floor, 2-for-3 from three-point range, and 3-for-3 from the free throw line.
  • Sierra Kemelgor (Crestwood, Ky.) Transylvania University | Guard | Senior - Sierra Kemelgor led the Pioneers with 14 points, five rebounds, and four steals in a 57-55 win over Manchester on the road.
