HCAC 2025 Volleyball Notebook, Week 10

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Volleyball teams competed in week ten of the 2025 season.

Offensive Player of the Week:
Morgan Howard (South Whitley, Ind.) Manchester University | Setter | Junior - Morgan Howard was an assist machine this past week for the Spartans. Howard racked up 84 assists to help lead Manchester to a 2-0 record on the week.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Madison Bizjak (San Diego, Calif.) Earlham College | Libero | Junior - Madison Bizjak collected 58 digs (6.44 digs/set) in a 1-1 week for the Quakers as they battle for the top spot in the HCAC standings. The junior libero also served up six aces with no serving errors on the week.

Offensive
  • Taylor Bock (Columbia, City, Ind.) Anderson University | Middle Hitter | First Year - Taylor Bock rolled to a .405 hitting percentage and 3 kills per set as Anderson went 1-1 on the week. Bock recorded 9 kills and a .444 hitting percentage in 4 sets with Rose-Hulman. She then posted 12 kills and a .375 hitting percentage in a 3-set win against Berea.
  • Kiara Arzuaga (Puerto Rico) Berea College | Setter | First Year - Freshman setter, Kiara Arzuaga, ran the offense for the Mountaineers this week recording 44 assists in two games averaging 7.3 assists per set. She also added 19 digs.
  • Aniyah Harrington (Dallas, Texas) Earlham College | Outside Hitter | Senior - Anniyah Harrington scored 34 kills (3.78 kills/set) this week, swinging at a .231 clip. The senior scored three aces and two blocks while also bringing in 40 digs (4.44 digs/set).
  • Leah Middleton (Pittsboro, Ind.) Franklin College | Outside Hitter | First Year - Middleton hammered down a career-best 20 kills and added nine digs and an ace as the Grizzlies took then-HCAC leader Earlham to five sets before falling. The rookie then added 10 more kills and a team-high 12 digs to help visiting Franklin hand Mount St. Joseph its first conference loss.
  • Abbey McCoy (Indianapolis, Ind.) Hanover College | Outside Hitter | Junior - McCoy posted a strong week as the Panthers handed Earlham their first HCAC loss of the season. The junior had 29 kills on the week, averaging 4.14 kills per set for an impressive .313 hitting percentage. She was key in the win over Earlham, posting a game-high 19 kills and a strong .373 hitting percentage with 11 digs.
  • Aubrey Miranda (Cincinnati, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Right Side Hitter | Sophomore - MSJ sophomore right side Aubrey Miranda had an efficient week attacking, registering 17 kills (2.43 per set) on 34 attempts she made just 1 error for an outstanding .471 hitting percentage.
  • Julia Irmen (Navarre, Fla.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Setter | Sophomore – Julia Irmen was the standout setter for Rose-Hulman as the team went 1-1 in conference play during the week. Irmen recorded 54 assists in the team's win over Anderson and 32 assists in Rose-Hulman's loss to Manchester. For the week, she totaled 86 assists, averaging 10.75 assists per set, with five service aces.
  • Macy Lentz (Park Hills, Ky.) Transylvania University | Setter | Sophomore - In a 3-0 HCAC victory over Hanover, Macy Lentz led the Pioneers with 28 assists, she also added two kills in the win. On Saturday, Lentz led the Pioneers in assists again with 48, in a 3-1 HCAC victory over Bluffton, she also added a kill in the win.

  • Lacy Rathbun (Russiaville, Ind.) Anderson University | Outside Hitter | Sophomore - Lacy Rathbun averaged 6.29 digs per set as Anderson went 1-1 on the week. She collected 21 digs in 4 sets against Rose-Hulman. Rathbun then scattered 23 digs in a 3-set win against Berea.
  • Amelie Cora (Rio Grande, P.R.) Berea College | Libero | Senior - Amelie Cora, the senior libero from Rio Grande, PR was a key piece for the Mountaineers defense this week recording a total of 35 digs in two matches averaging 5.8 digs per set. In her senior day celebration against Anderson, she tallied 22 digs in three sets averaging 7.3 digs per set.matches averaging 4.6 digs per set.
  • Lauren Kinsey (Goshen, Ind.) Franklin College | Middle Blocker | First Year - Kinsey had a big week at the net as the Grizzlies split a pair of big matches against HCAC co-leaders Earlham and Mount St. Joseph. The freshman had eight blocks in a five-set heartbreaker against the Quakers, then added four more blocks (while adding seven kills on .538 hitting) in a four-set victory at MSJ. Kinsey leads the Grizzlies with 82 blocks on the season.
  • Madison Schicker (Fishers, Ind.) Hanover College | Defensive Specialist | Sophomore - Schicker helped lead the Panthers to a strong week as they handed Earlham their first HCAC loss of the season. The sophomore had 41 digs on the week with four assists. Against Earlham, she had 29 digs.
  • Lily Ebright (Wichita, Kan.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Defensive Specialist | Senior - Lily Ebright led the Fightin' Engineers' defense this week, as they went 1-1 in conference play. Ebright totaled 29 digs in the win over Anderson and 13 digs in the loss to Manchester. She finished the week with 42 digs, averaging 5.25 digs per set. She also added two service aces.
  • Julia Brown (Bardstown, Ky.) Transylvania University | Outside Hitter | Sophomore - In a 3-0 HCAC victory over Hanover, Julia Brown led the Pioneers in digs with 15. In their second HCAC victory of the week, a 3-1 win over Bluffton, Brown led the team in digs again with 23.
