HCAC 2025 Volleyball Notebook, Week 9

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Volleyball teams competed in week nine of the 2025 season.

Offensive Player of the Week:
Addison Piatt (Fort Myers, Fla.) Earlham College | Outside Hitter | Sophomore - Addi Piatt led the Quakers in a 2-1 week with 49 kills (3.5 kills/set), 47 digs (3.36 digs/set), six aces, and two blocks. The sophomore swung at a .259 clip as the Quakers remained perfect in HCAC play to lead the conference at 5-0.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Madison Bizjak (San Diego, Calif.) Earlham College | Libero | Junior - Madison Bizjak held down the back line for the Quakers in a 2-1 week with 81 digs (5.71 digs/set), 16 assists, and three aces.

Offensive
  • Taylor Bock (Columbia, City, Ind.) Anderson University | Middle Hitter | First Year - Taylor Bock rolled to a .469 hitting percentage and 2.29 kills per set as Anderson went 1-1 on the week.
  • Sol Yashira Nazario Rodriguez (Ponce, Puerto Rico) Berea College | Outside Hitter | Sophomore - Sophomore outside hitter from Ponce, PR Sol Yashira Nazario Rodriguez was a key piece for the Mountaineers offense this week. She recorded a total of 13 kills, 11 digs, 2 blocks and 2 aces.
  • Kasey Sager (Troy, Ohio) Bluffton University | Middle Hitter | Junior - Sager piled up 29 kills in eight sets (3.63 KPS) with a red-hot .356 hitting percentage. She was also in on seven blocks as Bluffton battled HCAC heavyweights Earlham and MSJ in a pair of 4-set losses. Sager pounded 16 kills and blistered it with a .444 hitting percentage against Heartland-leading MSJ on Saturday.
  • Hope Moring (Butler, Ind.) Franklin College | Outside Hitter | Senior - Moring continued her outstanding all-around play, collecting 22 kills (on .283 hitting), 24 assists and 11 digs over seven sets as the Grizzlies split a pair of matches. She had a double-double against Rose-Hulman with a team-high 14 kills as well as 13 assists.
  • Abbey McCoy (Indianapolis, Ind.) Hanover College | Outside Hitter | Junior - McCoy led the Panthers in a strong 1-1 week, taking on both MSJ and Rose-Hulman. The junior finished with a team-high 31 kills, averaging 3.44 kills per set. She also had 19 digs and a block.
  • Avery Ball (Decatur, Ind.) Manchester University | Outside Hitter | Senior - Despite the Spartans going 0-3 on the week, Avery Ball kept the offense in rythm. Ball put up double-digit kills in the two HCAC matches in which Manchester played, with 19 kills against Earlham.
  • Sydney Doty (Mariemont, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Middle Hitter | Sophomore - Lions sophomore middle Sydney Doty was a force at the net this week, helping the team to a 2-0 record. For the week she registered 25 kills (2.78 per set) and a .269 hitting percentage. She added 6 total blocks and 6 digs.
  • Greta Carlson (Austin, Texas) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Outside Hitter | First Year – Greta Carlson helped lead Rose-Hulman to a 1-1 record, where they defeated Franklin 3-1 and lost to Hanover 3-1. Carlson recorded 16 kills against Franklin and 13 against Hanover for an average of 14.5 kills per match. She recorded an attack percentage of 33.3% against Franklin with one block, and an attack percentage of 18.4% against Hanover.
  • Macy Lentz (Park Hills, Ky.) Transylvania University | Setter | Sophomore - In a 3-0 win at Berea, Macy Lentz recorded 33 assists. In a 3-0 win over Anderson, Lentz again led the Pioneers in assists with 40. She averaged 12.8 assists per set, 3.3 kills per set and maintained a .416 hitting average in two HCAC victories.

  • Ellie Wilson (Eaton, Ohio) Anseron University | Middle Hitter | Sophomore - Ellie Wilson recorded 1.43 blocks per set as Anderson went 1-1 on the week.
  • Amelie Cora (Rio Grande, P.R.) Berea College | Libero | Senior - Amelie Cora, the senior libero from Rio Grande, PR was a key piece for the Mountaineers defense this week recording a total of 28 digs in two matches averaging 4.6 digs per set.
  • Emma Organ (Lambertville, Mich.) Bluffton University | Libero | Senior - Organ piled up 44 digs (5.5 DPS) across eight sets as Bluffton fell just short in a pair of four-set losses to Earlham and MSJ. She added 3 assists and 3 service aces.
  • Lauren Kinsey (Goshen, Ind.) Franklin College | Middle Blocker | First Year - Kinsey was once again a force at the net for the Grizzlies, averaging a block per set over a pair of matches. The freshman had four blocks against Rose-Hulman and three more in a sweep of Berea, pushing her season total to 70 over 85 sets played.
  • Kelsey Waggoner (Indianapolis, Ind.) Hanover College | Outside Hitter | Senior - Waggoner led the Panthers in a strong 1-1 week taking on MSJ and Rose-Hulman. The senior had 36 digs, averaging 4.00 digs per set. She also had three blocks and 18 kills.
  • Lyndsey Stephenson (Blue Ash, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Libero | Sophomore - MSJ sophomore Libero helped the team go 2-0 this week, including a big come from behind 5-set win at Hanover. For the week she registered 39 digs (4.33 per set) was 36 for 38 in receive attempts.
  • Lily Ebright (Wichita, Kan.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Defensive Specialist | Senior - Lily Ebright helped lead Rose-Hulman to a 1-1 record, where they defeated Franklin 3-1 and lost to Hanover 3-1. Ebright recorded 16 digs against Franklin and 17 against Hanover for an average of 16.5 digs per match.
