HCAC 2025 Men's Soccer Notebook, Week 7

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) men’s soccer teams competed in week seven of the 2025 season.

Athletes of the Week: 
Offensive Player of the Week:
Patricio Campos (Cdmx., Mexico) Hanover College | Forward | Senior - Campos led the Panthers to a perfect 2-0 week as they defeated both MSJ and Bluffton. The senior recorded four goals, all in the contest at Bluffton, and two assists for an impressive 10 points. His four goals came on eight shots for a .500 shot on goal percentage.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Will Martin (Goshen, Ind.) Manchester University | Goalkeeper | Sophomore - Will Martin was a brick wall in goal for the Spartans this past week. Martin posted two clean sheets, one against Anderson and one against Berea, totaling 11 saves between the two matches.

Offensive Players:
  • Brendan Hall (West Lafayette, Ind.) Anderson University | Forward | Senior - Brendan Hall netted a goal in Anderson's 1-0 victory against Franklin. The Ravens went 1-0-1 on the week.
  • Alan Galvez (Indianapolis, Ind.) Manchester University | Defender | First Year - Alan Galvez was vital for the Spartans in their win over Berea. Galvez put 2 out of 3 of his shots on goal, finding the back of the net in the 35th minute. Also, Galvez assisted Edwin Rodriguez's goal in the 51st minute.
  • Brady Diedenhofer (Newport, Ky.) Mount St. Joseph University | Forward | Sophomore - MSJ sophomore Brady Diedenhofer scored a pair in the Lions narrow loss to Hanover on Wednesday.
  • Alex Gilmore (Lewisburg, Pa.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Forward | First Year - Alex Gilmore helped lead Rose-Hulman to a 1-0-1 record, where they defeated Franklin 5-0 and tied Mt. St. Joseph 1-1. In the win over Franklin, Gilmore recorded a team-high six total shots and three shots on goal while scoring the final goal of the match.
  • Dylan Barnes (Elizabethtown, Ky.) Transylvania University | Forward | Senior - In a 1-0 win over Berea, Barnes had the lone goal for the Pioneers. In a 3-1 win vs. Earlham he scored two goals for Transylvania. Barnes had three goals in conference play for the week.
Defensive Players:
  • Jack Harris (Hobart, Ind.) Anderson University | Defender | Sophomore - Jack Harris contributed to two shutouts as Anderson went 1-0-1 on the week. He served on the defensive line that held Manchester to 0 shots on goal. Franklin was limited to 3 shots on goal. Harris racked up a whopping 17 intercepts and 8 steals on the week, finishing with averages of 8.5 intercepts per game and 4 steals per game.
  • Rodrigo Gutierrez Olvera Gonzalez (Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico) Hanover College | Goalkeeper | Senior - Rodrigo led the Panthers to a 2-0 week as they remain undefeated in HCAC play, defeating MSJ and Bluffton. The goalkeeper tallied six saves through 163 minutes of work with two wins.
  • Jacob Pohl (Avon, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Centerback | Senior - Jacob Pohl helped lead Rose-Hulman to a 1-0-1 record this week, where the Fightin' Engineers defeated Franklin 5-0 and tied Mt. St. Joseph 1-1. Pohl recorded a team-high three shots on goal against Franklin, while also scoring his first goal of the season. He also played a team-high 78 minutes in the victory, where he led a defense that allowed just one shot, zero shots on goal, and zero corner kicks. He followed up that performance by scoring the game-tying goal in the second half against Mt. St. Joseph, while playing all 90 minutes.
