CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) outdoor track and field teams competed in week five of the 2023 season.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week:
Rose-Hulman 4 x 100-meter relay team | Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology- The Rose-Hulman men's 4-x-100 relay set a school record to win the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet on Friday night. The team of Jack Cox, Jailen Hobbs, Tyce Miller and Tim Youndt completed the event in a school record 41.93 seconds.
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week:
Justin Dreyling (Reading, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Senior- Dreyling was dominant again for the Lions in the field events this weekend. Dreyling took home 1st Place in Long Jump with a jump of 7.03M which ranks 1st in the HCAC. Dreyling also took home 1st Place in the Triple Jump with a jump of 14.33M. This again ranks 1st in the HCAC so far this season. Currently, Dreyling is ranked 18th in NCAA DIII for his Triple Jump mark.
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Ashley Klosterman (Celina, Ohio.) Mount St. Joseph University | Graduate- Klosterman did a little of everything on the track for the Lions this past weekend. Klosterman took home 1st Place in both the 400M Hurdles and Pole Vault. She finished with a time of 1:11.67 in the hurdles and jumped 2.28M to claim the top mark. Klosterman also participated in the 4x400M Relay which took 2nd Place with a time of 4:37.49. Finally, to finish her day Klosterman took 4th Place in the 100M Hurdles with a time of 18.40s. Klosterman's 400M Hurdles time and Pole Vault mark are both currently ranked 3rd in the HCAC.
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week:
Rofiat Adeyemi (Austin, Texas) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Junior- Adeyemi swept 1st place finishes in the long jump (17' 8") and the triple jump (36' 6 3/4") and was part of the HCAC leading 4-x-100 meter mark (49.80) that ranks No. 3 in Rose-Hulman school history at the Fightin' Engineer Twilight Meet.

Conner Kimball (West Valley City, Utah) Earlham College | Senior- Kimball won the 800-meter run at the Mount St. Joseph Invitational with a time of 1:59.78. The senior holds the fastest time in the HCAC heading into the championship meet.

Gabe Melvin (Jacksonville, Fla.) Manchester University | Senior- Melvin ran the 100m dash at the Mike Becraft Invitational hosted by Ohio Northern this weekend and clocked in at 10.89 into a headwind of 0.6m/s. His time placed him fourth overall and third amongst Division 3 competition. His time of 10.89 also tied his lifetime personal best and #4 all-time mark in school history.

Chase Samples (La Grange, Ky.) Mount St. Joseph University | Senior- Samples was impressive on his Senior Day for the Lions. Samples took home 1st Place in the 400M Dash with a personal best time of 50.45s. This time puts Samples at 4th in the HCAC. Samples also ran the 200M Dash where he placed 6th with a time of 23.38s.

Tim Youndt (Pottstown, PA) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Senior- Youndt won the long jump at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet with a mark of 21' 2". He was also part of the school record setting 4-x-100 relay (41.93 seconds) and placed 2nd in the 110-hurdles (15.60).

Ben Villafuerte (Angola, Ind.) Manchester University | Senior- Villafuerte competed at the competitive Mike Becraft Invite hosted by Ohio Northern. Villafuerte brought home second place in the shot put with a throw of 15.49m. He also finished discus in seventh place and took eighth in the hammer throw with a new PR and Manchester top-10 mark of 45.75m.

Joey Bonham (Vanlue, Ohio.) Bluffton University | Bonham tied for 1st in the high jump at Ohio Northern's Mike Becraft Invitational on Saturday. His PR jump of 1.95 meters is currently 41st in the nation.

Katrina Agustin (Edwardsville, Ill.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Senior- At the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet, Agustin led the Fightin' Engineers with a 2nd place in the 100-meter hurdles (15.90), ran a personal best time to place 3rd in the 100 (12.68) and was part of the top 4-x-100 meter relay mark in the HCAC this season that ranks 3rd in school history (49.80).

Elena Stirn (Burr Ridge, Ill.) Earlham College | Junior- Stirn finished second in the women's 1,500 at MSJ with a time of 5:17.12.

Elizabeth Lohman (Fort Wayne, Ind.) Manchester University | Graduate- Lohman ran the 1500m at Ohio Northern this weekend and finished with a time of 4:53.66 for second place. Lohman's time was just a half a second shy of the conference lead and was good enough for a new Manchester top-10 mark.

Zaleeya Martin (Indianapolis, Ind.) Hanover College | Senior- Martin led the Panthers as part of the Friday Night Spikes meet hosted by Rose-Hulman. The senior captured a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.61 seconds. She currently holds the fastest time in the event among HCAC opponents.

Taylor Tatlock (Edinburgh, Ind.) Franklin College | Senior- Tatlock was the winner in the discus throw at Friday night's RHIT Twilight meet, setting a new PR with 40.25m. That performance improved her standing on the program's outdoor top-10 list as she now sits second overall in the discus.

Carley Camp (Logansport, Ind.) Manchester University | Sophomore- Camp competed at Ohio Northern where she racked up 24 of 30 possible points across 3 events. She threw 44.02m in the hammer throw to take 1st place. Camp also took second place in shot put with a throw of 12.39m, and she took third in discus with a distance of 39.30m. That toss of 39.30m is a PR and new Manchester top-10 mark.

Jill Wilhelm (St. Leon, Ind.) Mount St. Joseph University | First Year- Wilhelm shined in the field events for the Lions this weekend. Wilhelm took home 1st Place in the Javelin Throw with a mark of 39.61M. This mark puts her at 1st in the HCAC so far this season. Wilhelm also placed 2nd in Shot Put with a throw of 11.21M and Discus with a throw of 37.65M.

Nina Jazdzewski (Paris, Ky.) Hanover College | Sophomore- Jazdzewski led the Panthers as part of the Friday Night Spikes meet hosted by Rose-Hulman. The sophomore posted a third place mark in the pole vault with a vault of 2.95 meters.
