CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Indoor track and field teams competed in week six of the 2023 season.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week:
Jailen Hobbs (Spring Lake, N.C.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Junior – Hobbs set a new Rose-Hulman school record, a new HCAC record, and a new DePauw Fieldhouse record by winning the 60-meter dash in 6.83 seconds at DePauw on Saturday. Hobbs also won the 200 in a time of 22.58 seconds. The 60-meter dash mark ranks No. 1 in the Great Lakes Region and No. 12 in NCAA Division III this season.
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week:
Justin Dreyling (Cincinnati, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Senior - Dreyling was the winner in the long jump at the All-Ohio meet at Wittenberg over the weekend. Dreyling took the top spot with a jump of 7.23m (23'8.75") which is currently the eighth best mark nationally this season.
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week:
Lisa-Maria Markau (Berlin, Germany) Defiance College | Senior - Markau was the D3 All-Ohio Champion in the 200 meter dash, completing it in a school record tying time of 26.09 seconds. She also won her heat in the 60 meter prelims, running it in 8.01 seconds. In the 60 meter dash finals, she finished fifth. In the home track meet, she set a new personal best time of 1:02.74 in the 400 meter dash.
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week:
Carley Camp (Logansport, Ind.) Manchester University | Sophomore - Camp won both the shot put and the weight throw event at the DePauw invitational. Camp finished the shot put with a distance of 13.11m and the weight throw with a distance of 15.17m. Both distances set new personal bests and Manchester top-10 marks.

Men’s
- Zachary Davenport (Frankton, Ind.) Anderson University | Sophomore - Davenport took second place in the 800 open of Friday's Hoosier Hills with a PR time of 1:58.40. The following day, Davenport locked up fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:00.70 during Saturday's Jerry England Invitational. Davenport currently ranks fourth on the HCAC leaderboard.
- Michael Sweigart (Alexandria, Ind.) Anderson University | Sophomore - During Saturday's Jerry England Invitational, Sweigart captured second in the college division of the weight throw with a distance of 15.68 meters (51 feet, 5.5 inches). He also turned in a distance of 14.54 meters (47 feet, 8.5 inches) in the shot put.
- Marlon Brown (Austin, Texas) Defiance College | First Year - Brown broke the indoor school record for the 400 meter dash at the All-Ohio Championships. He ran it in 49.07 seconds and is now the only man in school history to record the 400 meter dash in under 50 seconds. Brown also completed a new personal best in the 200 meter dash at the Dick Small Invite that Defiance hosted. He ran the 200m in 23.08 seconds.
- Connor Del Carmen (Chesterfield, Mo.) Earlham College | Sophomore - Del Carmen won the men's 5,000 meter run at MSJ with a finishing time of 15:01.66. Del Carmen broke the EC school record in the effort, and currently has the second-fastest mark in the HCAC.
- Drew McGaha (Franklin, Ind.) Franklin College | Sophomore – McGaha competed in two different events over the weekend, starting with a seventh place finish in the 800m at the Hoosier Hills Invitational with a time of 1:59.94. He won the 600m run at Saturday's DePauw Indoor Invite with a time of 1:27.13 and was part of Franklin's winning distance medley relay team.
- Noah Sigler (Avon, Ind.) Franklin College | Junior – Sigler won the weight throw with a new PR of 16.04m at Saturday's DePauw Indoor Invite, improving his third-best throw in program history. He added a fourth place finish in the shot put with a heave of 13.04m.
- Ethan Weston (Mount Washington, Ky.) Hanover College | Junior - Weston found success in the 3,000-meter run as part of the Mt. St. Joseph Invitational as he took second overall with a time of 8:58.69.
- Nick Stroud (Leavenworth, Ind.) Hanover College | Senior - In the field events, Stroud led the Blue and Red as part of the Mt. St. Joseph Invite with a second place mark in the weight throw with a throw of 15.61 meters. He also took sixth in the shot put with a toss of 14.30 meters.
- Enrique Salazar (Fort Wayne, Ind.) Manchester University | Senior - Salazar competed in the 5k at the GVSU Big Meet on Friday. Salazar ran a time of 14:35.15, less than a second off his school record, and the second fastest time ever run by an HCAC athlete in that event.
- Gabe Hendricks (Fort Wayne, Ind.) Manchester University | Senior - During the DePauw Indoor Invitational on Saturday, Hendricks won the shot put event with a distance of 15.90m and finished second on a tie in the weight throw with a distance of 16.04m.
- Tim Youndt (Pottstown, Pa.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Senior – Youndt placed third in the long jump with a mark of 20’ 5 1/4" and also won the 60 hurdles (8.61) to help Rose-Hulman place second as a team at the DePauw Invitational. Youndt’s long jump mark ranks No. 8 in the HCAC this season.

- Haley Makowski (Osceloa, Ind.) Franklin College | Sophomore – Makowski took 10th place in the 800m at Friday night's Hoosier Hills Invitational with a time of 2:28.50. She took first place in the 600m at Saturday's DePauw Indoor Invitational with a time of 1:47.95.
- Aloria Kines (Owensburg, Ind.) Franklin College | Senior – Kines took third place in the shot put at Saturday's DePauw Indoor Invitational with a throw of 11.11m, setting a new PR and moving into fourth place in the indoor history of the program. She took fifth place and set a new PR in the weight throw with a throw of 12.86m, moving into eighth place in school history.
- Jessica Beckman (Glenwood, Ind.) Hanover College | Senior - In the field events as part of the Mount St. Joseph Invite, Beckman registered a first place finish in the shot put with a toss of 13.06 meters. She also took sixth in the weight throw with a distance of 12.74 meters.
- Hannah Brubaker (Goshen, Ind.) Manchester University | Senior - During the GVSU Big Meet on Friday, Brubaker finished the 5k in a time of 18:40, a new personal best and Manchester top-10 mark. Brubaker also leads the conference in that event by 1:10.
- Elsa King (Houston, Texas) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Junior – King swept distance races with wins in the 3000 (11:12.23) and the mile (5:39.04) at the DePauw Invitational to help Rose-Hulman place second as a team. Elsa ranks No. 2 in the HCAC in the 3000 and No. 5 in the HCAC in the mile this season, with the 3000 time achieved this week.
- Rofiat Adeyemi (Austin, Texas) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Junior – Adeyemi won the long jump (16’ 11 1/4") and placed second in the triple jump (35’ 5 1/4") to help Rose-Hulman finish second as a team at the DePauw Invitational.
