CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) announced the results of the Softball preseason poll, with Transylvania University voted to finish first in the 2023 season.
In a vote amongst league coaches, the Pioneers snuck out in first place in a tight race with five first-place votes and 61 points in the poll. Mount St. Joseph University finished just behind in second, with 59 points, picking up the remaining four first-place nods. Hanover College edged Franklin College for the third place slot, with the Panthers picking up 45 points and the Grizzlies earning 42. Rounding out the top half of the poll was Defiance College, who finished with 40 total points.
