Hanover College Wins 2023 HCAC Women's Cross Country Title

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) 2023 Women’s Cross Country Championship was run on Saturday, with Hanover College claiming the title at the Blue River Cross Country Course.

The Panthers won the championship title with a score of 41 points, while Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology finished in second, scoring 68 points. Manchester University finished in third with 89 points, Transylvania University finished in fourth with 97 points while Franklin College (119) and Anderson University (121) took fifth sixth respectively.

Amberleigh Sorensen (Yorktown, Ind.) from Hanover won the individual title, racing to a time of 23:23.80. Rose-Hulman's Jocelyn Onstot (Cary, Ill.) was named the newcomer of the meet, as she was the fastest first-year, running a race of 23:53.01.  In a vote of league coaches, Hanover head coach Brady Wells was named the 2023 HCAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year.
