HCAC announces 2021 HCAC Softball All Conference and Awards

CARMEL, Ind. – Following the 2021 season, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the Softball major award winners and members of the All-Conference Teams.
 
Defiance College’s Kalin Hubble (Anderson, Ind.) was voted as the 2021 HCAC Player of the Year. The junior had an outstanding year for the Yellow Jackets, starting in all 38 games she saw action in. At the plate, Hubble boasted a .437 hitting percentage with 55 hits, 45 RBI, 35 runs, 16 doubles, 9 home runs and a triple. She had a slugging percentage of .794 and an on base percentage of .475. She was also solid in the field, as a utility player, where she had a .920 fielding percentage.
 
In the circle, Cece Wittry (Georgetown, Ky.) from Transylvania University was named the 2021 HCAC Pitcher of the Year. The senior had a conference ERA of 0.79, picking up eight wins and zero losses in six starts. She only gave up 27 hits and five runs in 2021, behind 20 strikeouts, with six strikeouts looking. At the plate, Wittry was impressive as well, averaging a hitting percentage of .465 percent. She started all 16 conference contests, and had 20 hits, 17 runs and nine RBI.
 
Pioneer teammate Stella Wulker (Cincinnati, Ohio) was voted as the 2021 HCAC Newcomer of the Year. The first year made some noise in her first season in the league seeing action in 14 games with 12 starts. In her 35 at-bats she hit .429 at the plate, with 15 hits, six RBI, six runs and two doubles.
 
Transylvania head coach Shawn Hendrickson led the Pioneers to a 14-2 mark, a share of the regular season HCAC title, and the right to host the 2021 Conference Tournament. In a vote of league coaches, he was pegged the 2021 HCAC Coach of the Year.

Newcomer of the Year: Stella Wulker, Transylvania University
Softball Coach of the Year: Shawn Hendrickson, Transylvania University
 
The HCAC also honors an All-Conference First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention. The members of those teams are selected by a vote of league coaches and are listed below.
