Rose-Hulman Wins 8th-Straight HCAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship
RESULTS
LEXINGTON, KY – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men’s track and field team won the 2015 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship held at Transylvania University on April 24-25 in record fashion. The Engineers scored a meet record 311.5 points in the 20 events to hold off Anderson’s 93 point effort to claim the school’s eighth straight HCAC men’s outdoor track title.
The Rose-Hulman men had 10 event winners during the weekend. Senior Blake Schulthies (Dubois, Ind./Northeast Dubois) won a pair of events, claiming the title in the pole vault and 400-meter hurdles. Sophomore Andrew Okruch (Mt. Washington, Ky./Bullitt East) also won multiple events for the Engineers, posting wins in the shot put and discus.
Anderson finished second in the men’s team standings with 93 points with Bluffton placing third with 69.5 points. Manchester finished fourth with 64 points and was followed by Hanover (63 points), Defiance (62), Franklin (61), Transylvania (26), Earlham (18), and Mount St. Joseph (12).
