Tie break procedure for purposes of NCAA playoff designee and bowl team invitee.
If the conference standings result with a tie, the following steps will be used to break the tie.If the application of a tiebreaker step does not break the tie, then the next step will be used in an attempt to break the tie.
1. Which team won in their head to head competition
2. How the tied teams fared against next team in conference standings. Continue down in the conference standings until the tie is broken.
3. Number of conference wins by the conference opponents you defeated. Team whose opponents had the highest number of wins breaks the tie.
4. Number of conference wins by the conference opponents you lost to. Team whose opponents had the highest number of wins breaks the tie.
5. Highest final NCAA Division III Playoff strength of schedule.
6. If multiple teams have the exact strength of schedule, a representative will be chosen by random draw.
Note: Should the tie be between more than two teams, the process will be used in an attempt to emerge one of the tied teams and each time a team is emerged from this multiple tie, the tie breaking process will be started over from step one.
