ANDERSON, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's and women's track and field team earned titles at the eighth annual Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Anderson University on February 17.  The Engineers men scored 220 points in the 17 events to hold off Anderson's 11 point effort to claim their eighth straight HCAC men's indoor track title. The Rose-Hulman women's track team earned their second indoor title with 188 points, holding off second place Bluffton by 97.5 points.

The Rose-Hulman men had five event winners at the championship meet. The Fightin' Engineers captured individual titles in the 800-meter, 3,000-meter, 5,000-meter, triple jump and shot put. Senior Josh Himes (McCordsville, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) claimed the shot put title once again with a toss of 15.64 meters. Senior Matt Hill and sophomore Matthew Stevenot recorded distance victories for the Engineers in the 5,000 and 3,000, respectively.

Anderson placed second in the men's team standings with 111 points.  Hanover College tallied 86.5 points and was followed by Manchester University (71 points), Bluffton University (44.5), Defiance College (43), Franklin College (40), Earlham College (29), Transylvania University (11), and Mount St. Joseph University (7). 

The Rose-Hulman women's team won eight different events, tallying 188 points. Junior Lauren London (Hurricane, W. Va. / Hurricane) had two individual event wins in the long jump and 60-meter hurdles for the Engineers, and senior Gabi Razma (Durango, Colo. / Durango) placed first in the 400-meter dash and the triple jump. Razma was a member of the winning relay teams, while London was also a member of the 800 meter relay. Seniors Camille Blaisdell and Jaclyn Setina also contributed individual victories to the Rose-Hulman title.

Bluffton University placed second in the women's team standings with 90.5 points, while Hanover College placed third with 86 points. Manchester finished fourth with 74 points and was followed by Earlham (70 points), Defiance (41), Anderson (33), Mount St. Joseph (27.5), Transylvania (27), and Franklin (26).
