Hanover & Manchester Earn Co-Champion HCAC Crown at Outdoor Track & Field

RESULTS
ANDERSON, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's track and field team won the 2017 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship held at Anderson University on April 28-29 and May 3rd at Franklin College. The Engineers scored 250.5 points in the 20 events to hold off Anderson's 116 point effort to claim the school's tenth straight HCAC men's outdoor track title. The Manchester and Hanover women's track teams earned their fourth outdoor track and field title, respectively. Both teams claimed the co-championship crown after tallying 174 total points.
The Rose-Hulman men had six event winners including the 1600-meter relay team during the three day championship. Junior Josh Himes (McCordsville, Ind. / Heritage Christian) won a pair of events, claiming the title in the shot put and discus.
Two conference records fell on the men's side. Transylvania's Cole Green (Oak Ridge, Tenn. / Oak Ridge) won the 100-meter dash in a record time of 10.63 and Rose-Hulman's Aaron Lannoy (Muncie, Ind. / Burris) earned the 800-meter run crown with a record time of 1:55.19.
Anderson finished second in the men's team standings with 116 points with Bluffton placing third with 103 points. Hanover finished fourth with 90 points and was followed by Manchester (74 points), Franklin (60.5), Transylvania (45.5), Earlham (17.5), Defiance (13), and Mount St. Joseph (9).
The Hanover women's team won six events and Manchester's women's team won five events on their way to the conference championship. Senior Savannah Hubbard (Madison, Ind. / Southwestern) scored a total of 36 points to lead the Panthers to a share of the conference championship. Manchester's Mariah Jordan (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead) scored a total of 29.50 points and two event wins to lead the Spartans to the school's third-straight conference title.
Rose-Hulman finished third in the women team standings with 135 points. Transylvania finished fourth with 77 points and was followed by Bluffton (67.5 points), Earlham (42.5), Anderson (42), Defiance (32), Franklin (26), and Mount St. Joseph (10).
