Athlete of the Week:
Elijah Mattingly (Beech Grove, Ind.) Anderson University | Wing | Senior - Elijah Mattingly recorded 20 rebounds in Wednesday's win against Hanover, which is the second-highest single-game rebounding total on HCAC record. Mattingly provided 28 points, 20 rebounds, two steals and one block against Hanover. He then tallied 17 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks against Berea. On the 2-0 week, Mattingly averaged 22.5 points, 14,0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game.
Notable Performances:
- Bryce Riley (Bardstown, Ky.) Berea College | Guard | Senior - Bryce Riley poured in 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a win over Earlham, knocking down 4-of-8 from three to help Berea keep its postseason hopes alive. He kept it rolling at Anderson finishing with 20 points and seven rebounds in another strong performance.
- Nevin Robson (Kenton, Ohio) Bluffton University | Guard | Senior - Nevin Robson averaged 14.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as Bluffton split a pair of HCAC contests this week. He also finished the week with three assists, a block, and two steals.
- Cooper Matthews (Hamilton, Ohio) Franklin College | Guard | Junior - Cooper Matthews filled up the stat sheet for Franklin, including a big performance in Saturday's Senior Day win over Hanover. The junior flirted with a triple-double, putting up team highs of 22 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. He added 21 points, including 4-for-7 three-point shooting, two assists, and three steals against Transylvania.
- Joey Schmitz (Bargersville, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Guard | Sophomore - Joey Schmitz was phenomenal for Rose-Hulman in its 2-0 week against HCAC opponents. In the win over Mount St. Joseph, Schmitz totaled 10 points. His big game came in the win over Bluffton where he led the team with 26 points, eight rebounds, and four steals. Against the Beavers, Schmitz shot 10-for-17 from the floor and 6-for-8 from beyond the arc. He finished the week averaging 18.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.
- Hunter Barr (Hardinsburg, Ky.) Transylvania University | Forward | Junior - Hunter Barr had another strong week as he led Transylvania in two HCAC victories. Against Franklin on Wednesday, he recorded 23 points, six rebounds, and four blocks, while shooting 10-for-13 from the field. In Saturday's win against Mount St. Joseph, he led the team with 32 points, 11 rebounds, and a block and steal, while shooting 14-for-20 from the field for his eighth double double of the season.
