HCAC 2025-26 Men's Basketball Notebook, Week 10

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) men’s basketball teams competed in week 10 of the 2025-26 season.

Athlete of the Week:
Joey Schmitz
(Bargersville, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Guard | Sophomore - Joey Schmitz was a standout for Rose-Hulman as it went 2-0 against HCAC opponents this week. Schmitz started the week with a team-high 26 points and seven rebounds in the team's win over Hanover. He then led the team with 19 points in Rose-Hulman's victory over Franklin. Schmitz finished the week averaging 22.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. He also wrapped up the week shooting 65.2 percent from the field and 69.2 percent from beyond-the-arc.

Notable Performances:
  • Bryce Williams (Fishers, Ind.) Anderson University | Guard | Freshman - Bryce Williams put together 13 points, eight assists, and four rebounds in Wednesday's win against Manchester. He then racked up 21 points, six assists and nine rebounds. Williams averaged 17.0 points, 7.0 assists and 6.5 rebounds per game on the week.
  • Ian Snelling (Erlanger, Ky.) Bluffton University | Guard | Graduate - Ian Snelling powered Bluffton to wins over Earlham and Berea this week. He averaged 17.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game, while hitting 11-of-22 from the field, including 5-for-13 from deep. Snelling was nearly perfect at the line, going 7-for-8.
  • Ty Lynas (Crawfordsville, Ind.) Manchester University | Guard | Graduate - Ty Lynas put together another strong week offensively despite a pair of tough losses for Manchester. In Wednesday’s setback at Anderson, Lynas led the way with 23 points, while adding three assists and two steals. He followed that performance on Saturday against Transylvania with a game-high 30 points and five assists.
  • Joe Brand (Dayton, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Guard | Sophomore - Joe Brand was instrumental in Mount St. Joseph going 2-0 last week. In the 69-61 win at Berea on Wednesday he scored a career-high 27 points, going 9-for-13 from the field and 4-for-8 from three point range, he also added five rebounds, five assists, and a steal. For the week he averaged 16.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while shooting 64.7 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from three.
  • Hunter Barr (Hardinsburg, Ky.) Transylvania University | Forward | Junior - Hunter Barr had another strong week in two HCAC matchups. In a loss against Franklin, Barr recorded 11 points, nine rebounds, and six blocks. In a 100-88 victory over Manchester, Barr led the Pioneers with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocks.
