Mount St. Joseph wins 2025 HCAC Women's Golf Championship

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 2025 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Women’s Golf Championship concluded on Sunday, May 4th at Kearney Hills Golf Links, hosted by Transylvania University, with Mount St. Joseph crowned as champions of the HCAC Women’s Golf Championship for the first time in program history.

Following a postponement of day two due to weather delays and the shortening of the tournament to 36-holes, Mount St. Joseph University came out on top of the team leaderboards shooting +55 as a team after 35-holes. Finishing in second place was Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, shooting +65. Transylvania University finished in third place with a +69. 

With their win, the Lions secure the HCAC’s automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Division III Women’s Golf National Championship from May 13-16  at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va. The team win also results in the 2025 Roger Lundy Memorial Women’s Golf Coach of the Year honor being bestowed upon head coach Justin Tereshko, who is serving in his first year as head coach of the women’s team at Mount St. Joseph. 

The medalist at the tournament was Amy Smith of Mount St. Joseph. Smith played strong throughout the weekend and finished the HCAC Women’s Golf championship weekend with an overall score of +8 (154). Followed by June Lee of Transylvania who finished in second place with a score of +12 (158) on the weekend.  

The HCAC also names an All-Tournament Team which is comprised of the top 5 finishers in the conference tournament, including the tournament medalist.
