LEXINGTON, Ky. – The top-seeded Transylvania Pioneers defeated the second-seeded Hanover Panthers on Saturday to claim the 2025 Heartland Collegiate Men's Lacrosse Conference Championship title. Transylvania took the lead less than two minutes into the contest and never looked back, finishing the game with a commanding final score of 26–5.
Offensively, the Pioneers were led by three players who each scored four goals. Alex Madson (Ponte Vedra, Florida) struck early, netting his first two goals within the opening five minutes and finishing with four goals on ten shots. Huck Campbell (Louisville, KY) and Jack Miller (Shelbyville, KY) also tallied four goals apiece for the Pioneers.
Between the pipes, goalie Nick DeGrandi (Louisville, KY) played 45 minutes behind a stingy Pios defense, limiting the Panthers to just two goals on 11 shots while recording five saves. Overall, Hanover managed just 18 shots on the day.
With the HCLC Championship secured, Transylvania finishes the season with an 11–6 record and now awaits the announcement of its first-round NCAA opponent, which will be revealed during the NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Selection Show on Sunday, May 4 at 9 p.m.
